Is this testing going to be free. I can't see the club paying for it or the government and also where will the capacity come from to test approx 100,000+ football fans on a Friday/ Saturday morning

I've always felt it was one of life's injustices being born outside Bradford, oh what might have been.

Myself and the family made the difficult decision and have not renewed our STs for this season. Yesterday I traveled over to Bradford with Mrs Rocket . It was apparent people where not adhering to lockdown ruling. Oastler Market was disgusting people not following ruling just ourselves and a couple of others with masks on. My grandson is a primary school teacher within inner city Bradford , he has been helping out at school during the lockdown preparing for the kids returning. Yesterday the parents did not follow guidelines. Unfortunately this is Bradford and I am tending to agree with Fordy regarding his comments . With a lot of sadness I will not be returning to Bradford Centre for a while a.

The club won't have to pay as yet but the government are looking in to businesses paying for testing. Airports will have to pay for it.

Like it or not the PL football model works. The international footballing model doesn't. If people get tested before entering the ground then that is the best way to move forward.

Your point is an excellent one which appears to be lost on at least one poster on here. In reality it's even worse than you suggest. Over 1,000,000 fans attend the games on a typical weekend in normal times. Even ignoring the considerable cost involved, heaven knows how the public health system could cope with so many tests and analyses on top of priority testing in hospitals, care homes, the track & trace arrangements and so on. As you infer, it's pi$$ing in the wind to expect football to be somehow treated as a special case when there are so many more important issues.

You need to keep up to date mate:

I'm on top of the game. We are not in July.

Think the government are aware of how many fans will be going to games each week.

I think you will find this is happening in many areas not just Bradford.
My wife and i visited Foster square and the Broadway and we felt it was not to bad compared to other areas visited.
It is not surprising with the approach and examples set by the people in power.

I am up to speed thanks!

Yes, the passport concept could change things dramatically once the quick turnround testing is widely available. That's the critical point. And Hancock said in an interview only yesterday that the new test is being worked on and he hoped (that was Hancock's own expression) it would be available soon. A scientist involved in its design later said that the prototypes are working but not yet reliably and the country wouldn't have the new 'spit' test available for largescale testing for several months. It will become another piece of Govt speak in the same way we are still waiting for the world beating track & trace app 3 months on (and the Covid passport is also planned to be an app for those with a smartphone) and the Govt had to change its own testing definition (I should probably have said lied) to even get close to its own timescales on people being tested. But you keep believing whatever you want and you can flip flop again when the spit test isn't available next month.

Two major problems with any system put in place, the so called experts contradict each other when it comes to giving advice and even if a system was foolproof, the general public as a whole are too damn stupid to be able to implement it properly.

Maybe we should stop the 18-30 years attending and let all the coffin dodgers attend VP. Possibly be a safer environment...

Oh maybe we should ban over 70's and just let everyone else crack on in life? Just an idea.
