Is it Charlton again doing the trial? VP would have been ideal, large stadium small crowd

 

Agreed I’d happily pay £300+ for championship football with us having a championship quality squad. But maybe I’m alone in that, but I doubt it.

Somebody quoted Charlton the other day praising their pricing £300 + I think just looked at their average attendances in the championship I think it was jus over 9.000. I would be willing to bet if we were playing in the championship with affordable prices we would double that with all the extras that would bring. I think football in general is over priced I genuinely think we do things the right way on that score

 

You charge what you can realistically get away with. If Bradford could charge £300 believe me they would.

 

I agree with you there Park, football is over priced especially in the EFL where the quality is way of PL standard. Unfortunately however it’s dictated by a market and that market says that we are way under priced compared to our EFL rivals. At this level I don’t think it matters to much or above now there’s a cap. But if we’re to play championship football again and be competitive we’ll have to pay for it imo.

 

It’s a judgment but you look round VP there are a lot of families attending because it’s affordable for say a family of four. Put it up say £50 quid and it’s an extra £100 just for the adults if charged £300 we wouldn’t be getting 9.000 in whatever league we played in. Some promotion where adults payed more but could bring kids free might be a good idea

 

If by some miracle we ever get to the championship then it's time for fans to stump up the cash for a product that would be worth a premium against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Forest, Derby, etc. The whole reason it was practically given away was nothing to do with a moral stance on affordable football, it was because the product on show couldn't literally be given away and the Bradford public had had enough. It was a last throw of the dice. If you think charging £150 in the championship when everyone else is at least double that then you're wrong.

 

No the reason why affordable football was introduced was to get people into a stadium which is to big for our needs. And that is still the case of course if we start moving up the league there will be increases but if we want decent crowds then they would have be minimal

 

You do understand how market forces work? When you drop the price of your product its because it isn't selling. You need to ask the reason behind that product not selling, and it wasn't because the Bradford public couldn't afford it, it was becuase the product was shite. If the product found itself in the championship the product is now a saleable commodity again, the minimum price should be £250 for adults.
