It's a good start whichever way you look at it, I can see us smashing the 10,000 barrier, which is a good effort considering we are selling a season ticket where you can't actually attend half of the home games in the season.

To be clear I wasn't comparing Bradford City to Luton Town. I was comparing Bradford to Luton. Although Luton is smaller than Bradford it is a place with many similarities in that it is not a wealthy town, its legacy industries have all but gone, it has a large immigrant population with little interest in the club and is in close proximity to more successful teams, Watford, Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Chelsea etc etc yet they can attract good crowds and charge higher prices.

I understand the North/South comparison but I think there is more to it than that I genuinely think it is a Northern attitude rather than purely a financial inability and you are absolutely spot on with your final comment that we have now painted ourselves into a corner with the cheap tickets.

    @king karl@king karl.

See exactly where you are coming from. I'm of the exact thinking as you. If 10k season tickets sold (for example), potentially c2k of match day tickets would be released on general sale. Match day tickets would have to be purchased prior to match day.

So, if you was a claret season ticket holder you have in theory, two options available to watch the Amber games.
    1. Watch on ifollow
    2. Purchase a ticket via the online Bradford City ticketing system or at the ground AT LEAST 1 DAY PRIOR to kick off. This is on a first come, first served basis.

I have read the clubs t & Cs and nowhere does the club say that purchasing tickets (in relation to no2 above) is non permissable, if you are a current season ticket holder.

On relation to point 2, why would they? In effect the club could increase matchday sales from its existing fanbase.

In theory their is a third option to see further games, beyond the current proposed set up, in that the government may end the socially distanced restrictions at football grounds to the effect that all season ticket holders can go to all games. Ie current set up of 25%/30% to say 50%/60%.

So in theory, if space on a match by match basis is available, you pay your £150 (or upgrade price) for your season ticket and could subject to availability be able to watch the other games for additional monies. In effect you could be at Valley Parade for 21 games (first two subject to government restrictions).

That's how I read it pal.

You forgot to mention that I was using 14000 X 150 so if you are going to try and argue that many of the tickets that Luton sell are not full price then surely you are going to have to apply the same logic to the ticket we sell because we don't ell 14000 at 150 do we?

They have said that if we are not up to the % then excess tickets will be sold. So if we take the capacity to be 7,000 and we only sell 10,000 season tickets that is 5,000 claret and 5,000 amber leaving 2,000 match day tickets available. If you have a Claret ticket you would be able to attend amber matches if you pay for a match day ticket

So I'm not going mad ffs... i knew I'd read that somewhere

That was my point that the available tickets don't really want to be more than a tenner because we've already shelled out once

yez that is true but without the exact breakdown it is hard to be exact. Looking at their complex pricing structure I think I was generous saying they would average £300, I think it would be less, just like ours will be lower than £150. I would hazard a guess that our season ticket income is probably about same

You are half right. No away fans but there will be day tickets if we don’t sell out for season tickets.

I think the reason for not selling season tickets to new people will be it could cause issues for next season with renewals

In theory to watch the 21 games permissible by government restrictions, your cost to watch those games would be £350/£370.

£150 season ticket and using last seasons cost on a match by match basis, purchased prior to match day, a further £20 for 10/11 games depending on how the club allocate the remaining 21 games, further to government restrictions. Nowhere, have I seen the club advertise the price of match day tickets unless someone can show me elsewhere. BTW, Fred on twitter dose not count....

    You're not singing any more...

With the Utilita Energy Stadium’s capacity set at approximately 7,000 for the foreseeable future, it is a possibility that individual match tickets could then be made available for each home league fixture - on a game-by-game basis - should season-ticket sales figures prove lower than they were ahead of the 2019/20 campaign (approximately 13,800).

    Bang on.

@Keefly Bantam@Keefly Bantam. Nowhere does the club say it is not permissable to purchase match day tickets if you have a season ticket for the 2020/21 season. Why would they.

Ask yourself this question, where will the genuine demand be for match by match games. Floating supporters or those that yearn to watch every game (ie season ticket holders). The club will want to maximise sales and can you blame them?

    Well, that's my thinking fella

Can see your logic but I honestly think the club will maximise it sales revenues. I mean who pays for PPE equipment for 'staff', testing. Potential lose of match day revenues via catering? Programmes? Sponsorship at the ground.. In effect the sponsors are potentially only reaching a quarter of their target audience on a game by game basis...I'm sure some of the sponsors may have conversations with the club in this respect...

Ifollow will want there cut of the cake from the increased demand of their services from all 72 football league clubs. Increased costs for server demand, for example? Somebody has to pay for this, could be the authorities but I wouldn't be surprised if the football clubs have to pay their way.

Fair comment that. The thing with the cheap tickets, if it had inspired some sort of backlash against higher ticket prices, not just in our division but in all divisions, then i'd have seen it as a great success. I know the club have used it as some sort of successful barometer but no one else has taken up on our initiative. It does have benefits, it means i don't have to shell out so much to watch dire football but as a long term business model it severely limits your increase in turnover especially when its your major source of income bar none.

Think Ryan Sparks answers the main questions around the subject of match to match tickets.
Ticket pricing to be announced next month, season ticket holders will get first dibs on the tickets then general sale. With names needed for track and trace I'd guess it will only be amber can buy claret match to match tickets and vice versa
