Can see your logic but I honestly think the club will maximise it sales revenues. I mean who pays for PPE equipment for 'staff', testing. Potential lose of match day revenues via catering? Programmes? Sponsorship at the ground.. In effect the sponsors are potentially only reaching a quarter of their target audience on a game by game basis...I'm sure some of the sponsors may have conversations with the club in this respect...

Ifollow will want there cut of the cake from the increased demand of their services from all 72 football league clubs. Increased costs for server demand, for example? Somebody has to pay for this, could be the authorities but I wouldn't be surprised if the football clubs have to pay their way.

 

As the price for buying match day tickets been published yet? Same as last season?

Potential match day ticket sales. People with no intention of coming don't need a seat allocation and that seat could be instead sold alongside any available match to match seats.

Appreciate that's a similar issue on a normal season when ST holders don't come to a match but the situation is much different this season

An option to purchase but at the same time, opt out of actually coming to VP shudda been an option. With access to ifollow instead. If the ground restrictions open up before the season ends then you'd just miss out as inclusive ifollow would end too. Even if not that many took up that option, I'm sure some would. Which would free up availability for additional sales

 

Won't the stadium be set up for 7000 social distancing ?, club won't know until 3.00pm (or after) whether all 7000 have turned up, would have though it would be difficult to accommodate walk ins...

That's gonna pee a few folk off, not me i'm not fussed, happy to watch from home...

That's my point. I won't be alone in not taking up my seat for every game I'm allocated (some won't go at all). That's potentially the price of a match day ticket the club miss out on if they want 7000 there every match.

I do think as time goes by, via lobbying, research, blah blah blah that government restrictions will be lessened.

As for those not going. Empty seats or pass to friends /colleagues as in previous years

 

Under the restrictions I don’t think there is any way round people who have paid and don’t turn up. However once the total of people are known in each group the excess can be sold

 

It may say that elsewhere but in the real world, some will just do what they want. Irrespective.
