I was wading through a YouTube video entitled Bradford Memories and these two showed up, so I have done a couple of screenshots, cleaned them up a bit, and here they are.

The first one I am guessing is from the fifties, or very early sixties, as steam trains are visible.

The second one I have no idea about, so any information very welcome.

edit: for some reason it will not load the other pic, says something about security failure. I will keep trying as I have no idea as to why this should be the case. They both came from the same video and have been nowhere else but my Mac.

    edit 2:
    Old BCFC 1a.jpg

Sussed it, I had enlarged the screenshot and it was now too big

1st pic I well remember that view

2nd, the old changing rooms were in the first few houses on the left and looking at the big crowd on there it looks like a one of our big cup games, I remember being on the kop when we squeezed over 40k in to VP

It looks like the one from the top of the old Kop was probably taken, when the ‘new’ Midland Road’ cover was erected. So probably around 1966 and certainly before 1968 when steam trains ceased to operate.

The investigation resulted in the closure of half the Midland Road stand. The stand's steel frame was then sold to Berwick Rangers for £450 and a smaller replacement stand was built at Valley Parade in 1954.[21] Six years later, the stand had to be demolished for a second time because of continuing foundation problems.[22] It was another six years before all four stands at Valley Parade were able to be opened for the first time. To enable construction of a new stand on the Midland Road side of the ground, the club directors moved the pitch 3 yards (2.7 m) closer to the main stand. The new stand was then the narrowest stand in the league.[22] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_Parade

He, he….Wrong end of the ground Rod ….Although back in the day the two or three disused turnstiles at the top left (in the image) of the “ Kop” was our “ way in”. ( Not those visible at the bottom of Burlington.)

    Happy days !

I know this is a bit anorak but hey…

The upper image… I know very well. The steam engine is a Britannia class loco going to Manningham shed for turning , coal and water , thus getting ready to take out the Carlisle stopping train which left Forster Square at 1540. M-S from memory . The game is in its first half for sure.

Manningham shed closed in April 1967.

I’d guess that was taken in 66 ish

Steam ceased nationally in August 1968 .

It was mate and if you enlarge that picture you can see the tunnel where the players came up from, they changed at the terraced house went down into the cellar and along the tunnel up some steps and out onto the pitch, them wre the days.
