The season ticket uptake tells me Rupp has more leeway than I envisaged. Not sure why, he's taken very little interest other than leave everything to Sparks. But let's see where his statement takes us, if true to his word this extra effort and money might make the difference next season

Christ with the Rupp statement and pitch pledges feels like we’ve gone back in time. See previous pledge!!

almost like they lied to us last time eh?? I was starting to kind of forget the mess they created but these articles are a reminder of all the empty promises and pure neglect.

Eh, so are you saying they didn't get that work done in 2018?

    I'm pretty sure they did.

There is life in the club still.
we have been a couple of results away the last two season's.
I am as disappointed as anyone at being in league 2 or division 4 in old money to me.
Rupp by his own admission is not a football man and was lead into ownership by Rahic.
Yes i would love a more proactive owner, we will just have to wait and see if he is true to his word.
In my eyes he has taken a few small steps.

No they did… but it must have done on the cheap from our perspective. Must be cause it’s lasted 6 years of the 10 guarantee.

There's plenty of life in the club 100% down to the fans we are a sleeping/aspiring Championship club waiting to be woken sadly won't happen under the present stewardship
I wonder that when you are watching us play Bromley on a cold Tuesday November night you will see the benefit of being a couple of wins away from a shot at a play off final no progress there we may as well have finished mid table
Whether Rupp is a football man or not he is an allegedly rich business man who should know that unless you drive a business forward it will eventually stagnate as we have done to quote your words we were one win away from the Championship when he bought us and we have gone backwards on a very slippery slope ever since and are now a L2 mid table club not the sign of a club on the up
Going forwards words are cheap in my book and having heard his intentions when he ousted Rahic I have seen no progress since
His latest rallying call may be different no one knows only himself yes Sharpe if given complete charge of club affairs is a step in the right direction I think moves were afoot before Sparks trip to Germany with this
If and it's a big If he buys the ground that needs to be owned (an asset of the club if you like) and not one of his other companies freeing up ALL the rent to be reinvested into the squad making us a far more attractive proposition to any interested parties
Giant footsteps are needed not small steps now is the time for him to be true to his word
    Action Speaks Louder Than Words!!!!!!

Perhaps not the totality of Rome……but Conwy Castle, which is an immense fortification, was constructed in 4 years, had and still has an impregnable defence, and unbeaten at home. Blimey if the could do that over 700 years ago……..;)

I agree 100% that we now need the actions to back up the words.

And yes we do need to see some giant steps forwards but, if they happen, it's likely that they will be achieved, mostly, due to a number of positive small steps; the appointment of David Sharpe being one and the extra investment in the pitch being another. Of course, these need to be followed by lots more small steps and maybe, just maybe, we might see one of those giant ones as well.

    Like i said small steps.
I always try and find a positive, nothing is ever achieved by being negative.
Sports is unlike any other business.
Your direct competitors will do all they can on the day to stop you from attaining your goal, wining.
Yes we should be doing so much better than we are, but have no divine right to actually be doing so.
I think Rupp has nowhere to hide now that the fans have actually started to seriously question his modus operandi

You must only read what's convenient the loan has been debated many times, but let's not forget why it was made with regards the clubs situation and that the owners were more than happy to agree the interest rate.

@Bradford End@Bradford End knows at that particular time no financial institution would touch us they'd been stung twice, they'd have said what assets do you have then laughed in their faces with regards the reply..

I think it has been mentioned on here before, that Mark Lawn was willing to lend the money interest free.
His partner in crime wanted it on a proper commercial footing, or no deal.
The same guy , who in my eyes has been partly to blame for our predicament, since he and his fellow directors took control after the demise of Big Geoff.
He is a constant at our club, up to the Sparks tenure, a guy he nurtured.

That's how I understood the offer, Mark joined in 2007 and according to Wikipedia (I know not the most reliable source of information) his loan paid off the banks who were closing in.
I remember when I worked at Stocks Lane Primary I opened up made a brew then listened to the Alan Brazil Show on Talk Sport and heard Brazil say there was a strong rumour Bradford City could have to enter their third admin I couldn't believe it, I'm not quite sure if that was before Mark joined the board but it certainly worried me,.

My post was meant to be Realistic not Negative you took it that way
Off field football is most certainly a business and currently that's our weakest point
Where did I mention we had a devine right to be better as fans we should expect more or be happy with mediocrity
Personally I expect more don't know about you
Hopefully you are right and Rupp has "Nowhere to hide" and the fans don't weaken and continue to question his commitment

I was not aiming anything at you mate, just generalising,
Off field commercial activity is doing really well.
I am not sure around the playing staff support team, how we compare with other clubs or weather the facility's hinder us with injuries etc.
I would love Bradford city to have state of the art training facilities. we dont and never had, although they appear to be far superior to what we have had in the past. Does it hold us back, who knows , but we did reach the premier league with them.
Yes i would like Bradford City to have an owner with Big Geoff's vision and drive, shallower pockets and a little less ego.
In all the time i have followed city , almost 50 years, he is the only one i can think of that really drove us forward, ultimately to fail, like all the rest.
