It's always a good idea for managers to deliberately lose a match.

Not only would it impress his current employer, any potential future employer will no doubt be impressed too as would his current players, and any mates they have at other clubs he might rock up to.

Seriously, some of this fanbase...

 

If he was doing that when there was still a distant, albeit unlikely, chance of the playoffs, then he's not the sort of manager I want.

Very good article and absolutely describes the current climate at the club.

 

Can anyone explain why Rupp couldn't do a share issue to raise funds-say giving up eg 10% equity. Likely some legal matter I expect but interested to know if it's a possibility?

 

Yeah the second part-where finances are raised by fans to go to the club in return for a % share of the company. I guess doing that would eventually meaning a higher selling price for Rupp to eventually get his investment back?

Seems I was right then! Total silence since this incident. Rupp knew as soon as the match was over, he could jump back on his plane and not have to answer our questions

Rupp is not naive, he has not had the wool pulled over his eyes, he has not been duped by his trusted employees. He is a shyster of the highest order, the faster we get him and Sparks out, the better for the fans

I am absolutely amazed there hasn’t been one single line from any of them. They are taking such a gamble and I am not sure why.

It’s a mess truly, and shows the disregard for fans and their attitude of us all been stupid and will clap blindly. We have been taken advantage of I don’t know whether that’s because of how cheap the price have been they feel the can afford to ride more rough shot over fans.

 

I am not surprised one bit.

Rupp and Sparks don't care about their fans at all.

They are both a disgrace to our beloved club that many of us have supported through thick and thin for half a century

 

Does our absent owner actually realise the club he bought in L1 is now in L2?

or does he ignore that fact, just like he ignores the dwindling attendances and fan petitions?

remarkable to think he’s holding out to recover his investment.

 

Graham Alexander has publicly come out in support of Sparks.

He has explained that he is hard working and has done nothing but support him since arriving at the club.

He also said though that he doesn't want to get into what may or may not have happened the previous few years under Rupp and Sparks.

Surely GA has to see that the protests are not just about the last 5 months though.

I take GA's point that Sparks may well be hard working, I actually don't doubt that. However, the majority of fans think he is out of his depth with the enormity of running the club in the absence of the owner.

GA should be bothered about the previous few years and understand how we have fallen under Rupp's tenure, this is the whole point of fans protests

 

Working hard and being completely inept in your role aren't mutually exclusive, sparks may well be a grafter but the damage he is doing to our club can't be ignored just because of that. The man is leading us on a slow demise into non league, time to go graft elsewhere sparksy

 

I don't think we should read too much into what GA says about Sparks. Of course he isn't going to slag his boss off publicly and I actually think it's quite unfair he is being asked those sorts of questions. I wouldn't be surprised if privately, his views are very different.
