Rupp & Sparks Out?

Rupp and Sparks have failed us and we are non the wiser on what the future has in store for them - but Sparks, ffs do the right thing and terminate Gents involvement with the club immediately! He and Hughes should be totally embarrassed at the shit show recruitment wise they have burdened the club with.

I do feel for GA inheriting so many inept players, yes by his own admission he made mistakes today but hopefully he is learning fast about what needs to change and quickly

 

Sparks should have been pushing back on these 3 year deals and McDonald & Derbyshire.

That would be a massive step backwards, criticise Sparks all you want but he’s different league at bringing in financial sponsorship compared to Rhodes who just let things ride when it came to bringing in sponsorship. He even got Gibb involved which would be impossible under Rhodes.

 

Sadly, too many are happy to plod along and wil be lining around the corner when the City Festive Onesy goes on sale.

He's an excellent example of the Peter Principle. The solution is to move him back down, or sideways, to where he is competent. Maybe in time he will develop the skills and knowledge to move back up the hierarchy, maybe not. But at least in the meantime he'd be back at a position in which he can succeed.

I've been one of those arguing all along for a structural reorganisation of the club, so that we have (to keep this post simple) footballing and non-footballing operations. S. has been good on the latter, not so good on the former. Get him back to where he has been good.

Of course, this means there has to be funding for the positions such a reorganisation requires. I would hope that the owner (really, any owner, in any business, anywhere) would recognise the importance of a proper structure to the success of that business, and see to that.

Showing yet again you talk but don’t have any facts. Kindly explain what part I play in the running of the club, apart from assisting when requested on non football matters.

 

You communicate with Sparks. That’s enough to tell me that you are not telling him or Rupp to do the right thing by the club and resign or getting Rupp to sell up.

The picture of you stood next to Sparks. Both looking clueless about footballing matters when we got battered against MK said it all to me.

Respect for going to Germany to see Rupp about Edin but since then it’s downhill because you just sit back and watch the club become a mess. Doesn’t matter though as you are VIP!

Care about the club. Tell Sparks to resign from his position! That’s the only conversation you need with him now.

It’s now time for us all to stop blaming the managers when it’s clear those running the club haven’t got a bloody clue or don’t care about the fans! Even Andy on the radio implied as much.

Look it’s like this. Rupp seems like he doesn’t care about club and appoint Sparks as CEO highlighted this but he did it. Ok, we move on a try but how many years later and loads of managers the club has gone backwards and on the pitch we are shite.

We have no strategy or long term vision. It’s a mess! And if Rupp did care he would be making changes but too busy with his toy cars, so he needs to sell the club.

 

Really don’t know where we go from here things look really bleak and I am worried more worried than I was in the c19 season when sparks feared oblivion.

Plea from me @wetherbywhaler I don’t know how much influence or discussion you have with Sparks and Rupp (probably none with later) but we are dying a slow death under his ownership, we need change… desperately.

You are more connected than most so anything you can do fans would be grateful.

 

It could get really ugly on Saturday. Concede the first goal and there could be mayhem.

 

It’s clear now that we need a change of ownership but how can it be forced?
If Rupp holds out for 10 million and until then just happy to break even then we’re in big trouble.
The only way the fans can cause an effect is to start making Rupp lose money week after week.

 

People just won't renew season tickets.

There is zero chance he's getting 10m for a league 2 team who own nothing.

 

But that’s the thing, people are still renewing year on year and Rupp is happy with that as are the sponsors.

 

The difficulty is that the value of the club is based, broadly, on two assets : our FL membership and our fanbase.

SR can just let the budget dwindle if he wants without it costing him anything - loss of perceived value of the club notwithstanding.

There is very little fans can do to impact his ownership I feel, other than sustained protest that embarrasses him.
