Just been reading Rodneys obituary in the Yorkshire Post.I did not realise he had passed away,he was 79, and seems to have done ok for himself after he finished playing. One of my favourite City centre forwards,I remember him scoring in the V P reopening match against an England X1.RIP.

That's sad news as yourself one of my favourites during my time.
Remember him on his knees at Park Avenue when he'd done Jimmy Scoular asking for forgiveness (taking the mickey) from Dirty Jimmy, those sort of players wouldn't last in todays game.

    Rodney Green R.I.P

Rodney Green had a great scoring record at City 41 goals in 68 appearances but unfortunately couldn't add to them in the Workington match which Bronco will remember.

Shame to hear Rodney has passed on.I remember him well and the Workington home game.Promotion,a thing we didn't get involved in usually.Pouring down and we never got going.Workington's second goal at Bradford end just hit home hard.I vividly remember the ball hitting the back of the net and all the water flying off it.

Time waits for nobody.RIP Rodney and thanks.

If my memory serves me correctly back in those days most clubs center forwards scored around 30, Kevin Hector being an example :(.

Went round to his house one morning, just off Thornton Lane to ask for his autograph when he played for Avenue. They'd been playing away the night before and he was still in bed. His wife went upstairs and got it for me. I was delighted. Often wondered in later years, though, if it really was his signature or if she signed for him. Happy days. Wonderful player in his day.

Bit before my time but seemed to have been quite a character. He was very popular at Watford where the fans had their own chant for him. He's Up, he's down he's in the Rose and Crown Rodney Green. Brilliant. RIP
