No evidence that he isn't loyal? The CLUB literally call him loyal. You have proof he was holding out elsewhere? Real negative nancy's on here. What I see is someone who is constantly tweeting at the club replying to contract extensions when he has no real reason to do so. Also saw him liking tweets asking him to re-sign. Give your heads a shake.

More like a dose of reality. Football at this level isn’t immune from financial implications of coronavirus. Millions going to be put out of work. League 2 players at more risk than ever of not getting contracted.

He's 31 and giving him 2 years when we have a aging squad with players like Clarke and Donaldson the 2 year deal just seems like a poor bit of business for us at this time. As highlighted above it's not as if he is amazing.

His rating the year before in div 1 were not that great either.

I don't mind him but miles better keepers out there and I would have offered him a 2 year deal.

ROD is an ok keeper. Nothing to get excited about.

I would of just stuck to a 1 year deal that's all.

 

We aren't getting better than Richard O'Donnell this Summer, or next.

I'd be more than happy for him to line up for us next season, hopefully in League One, and wouldn't have a worry in the world. Pickford is the only recent goalkeeper we've had that was notably better than ROD, and that doesn't count.

 

He is a decent keeper but my concern is the defensive unit, which isn’t going to change much from last season. We conceded too many at times and looked to be all over the place on occasion. As defending isn’t one of McCalls strongest points I have a slight worry in that department. He needs to get a grip of those in front of him this season.

BRE and the two O'Connors never clicked, we never got a successful partnership out of the three of them.

It's extremely unlikely we'll offload two of them, but I'd certainly be most in favour of keeping Paudie, even though Anthony was probably our best performing CB.

Hopefully the fact that our defensive unit will remain largely unchanged improves their performance, particularly in a season where most clubs are all over the place. We're likely to field a new right back, but three quarters is probably going to be the same.

 

If we recruit a decent defensive midfielder that will give the 2 CB some cover then we might see them improve. Last season they had no protection and were out numbered most of the time. We also conceded a lot of goals coming down the right side due to having no decent right back so if this is addressed we will look a lot stronger in defence.
