Terrible news only 72 years old, as manager he and Terry Yorath had one of the best attacking teams I've seen in my time watching City, they never knew when they were beaten.

This is awful news on top of all the other losses we have had.
Very few players/managers have ever had such an impact at THREE clubs, especially in the same local area. And what he did for Bradford City before and after the fire will never be forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Never continued at the sharp end of football after us, and moved into business quite succesfully.
A bit of punditory thereafter & moved back to his 1st love Town (cough) to work there in hospitality I believe.

Shocking news.He was always held in high regard by me and gave me some of my fondest memories. He was absolutely the right fit for the Club and quietly reshaped us into a good footballing side who got us promoted. Did not deserve to leave in the way he did and I think the Board acted in haste. RIP Trevor, you really did mean a lot to so many of us and will be sorely missed. Condolences to his nearest and dearest . A gentleman and a true BCFC Legend.

My 1st memories of watching and following BCFC were with Trevor Cheery at the helm. Wonderful halcyon days for a teenager growing up in Bradfud during the 80's
RIP sir and have some fun chats catching up with big Bobby.

Just rang my dad to tell him the terrible news. The best he's seen , turned some average players into total winners . And a well likeable guy to go with it. Condolences to all connected with Trevor . RIP.

So sorry to hear this sad news. One of the best ever managers at Valley Parade who worked under very difficult times. Wonderful team to watch in the promotion year and did wonderfully well in division two considering being homeless due to the aftermath of that awful fire.
As many have said he was a true gentleman and was harshly treated by the board at the end.
Rest in Peace Trevor, thanks for your service.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Morley Bantam, Bantamsteve and Idlebantam like this. -

As a young man, my first experience was of Trevor Cherry as the manager of Bradford City.
In incredible job, an incredible man both sides of 11.05 and an absolute legend and star for Bradford City. A real reason behind the modern history of our football club.

Can only endorse what everybody is saying about TC.
Such a shame with many years ahead of him, our manager at some of the best times for the club and the very worst time.

Boys just enjoy now.... whatever that is. I was sat in the garden last weekend looking up and watched 6-8 buzzards flying around. Simple pleasure but nice to be alive... keep safe lads and enjoy every minute

Really shocked at this.Great manager
and player. He had a great career and
his time with us was special.
He had a good business brain and would
of been an ideal director of operations.
