The new CEO won't be Baldwin,
as stated the time factor doesn't
match with his "notice" to EFL.
Rhodes says he thinks his replacement
    would be "suitable" which doesn't
allude to Baldwin who would be perfect!

I think Bronco you are omtting Rupp from who left us with a club spiralling downwards. He was culpable. He sdmit is the owner a d can do waht he sees is to his benefit but imho he should have sold at a loss or given the club funds not loaned them to help the club - with the Mcburnie money on top we would be in an even better financially. As for Mr Rhodes - whilst on the financial side he may have helped to run the club on the playing front he hqs contributed to where we are - recruited Bowyer was in charge for two dreadful transfer windows - the latest is too soon judge. He waits until the January window finishes - where we lose to decent strikers, sacks the manager and then leaves the next manager we an even weaker squad.
It looks like the decision was made then to let the club tread water in the hope we did not get relegated. The Vaughan departure and no replacement is very disappointing just a big wage saving there. The recruitment based on performances so far this season looks likely we will continue to tread water - unless we see some leaping forward in individual and as a team in respect of performances. (Fingers crossed it does or next season tickets could see a further drop unless the new CEO produces something out of a top hat ).

Odd one with Baldwin really, a friend I just spoke to said there was a piece about him last week in the paper stating how big of a Bradford City fan he was and he will only really ever have one club in his heart. It makes you wonder if it could be him or Jenkins as previously stated. I'd like to think whoever it is has a forward plan and as above a reset. One thing that I'd like us to do is appoint Weaver at the end of the season if Harrogate don't go up. He's been successful in the lower leagues, his teams play hard working, attractive and attacking football. He also is local and will have contacts around here and know what the club is all about.

I don't think I've ever said Rupp was not a party to our decline, but what I will say is Rahic was very clever at what he did pulling the wool over everyone's eyes apart from those directly involved on a day to day basis.
At the time the likes of James Mason offered their expertise which Rahic very rarely took on board he knew football, would his partner Rupp believe the likes of Mason I'd suggest not, so ultimately he had little choice but to leave, luckily John Dewhirst managed to get a face to face meeting and got Rupp involved the rest is history.
So even though most of my comments were directed at what Rahic did and got away with Rupp was certainly too trusting and is equally as responsible as he was the major share holder and should have had more involvement in the running of the club, I believe when Rupp offered his apologies for what his co-partner did and said he would do all he can to get our club back to where we were before our demise suggest he realises he was also at fault.
There is no argument that as CEO during the last period Julian has to take his share of some very poor decisions football wise and ultimately financially.
As with yourself lets hope before the new guy takes over he has spoken with Rupp with regards his vision going forward and Stefan had backed it both as owner and benefactor.

It's s leap, but if it turned out to be Sparks or Mason then we really do need that Director of Football in the building in my view.

I'm not really going to tear apart what Rhodes actually said but this seems completely true.

Hes never come across as the most dynamic of individuals but he now sounds like the worst of person who has stayed with the same company for 15 years and has been completely demoralised by it.

Spot on. You hit the nail on the head for me with that post.

Flat as a fart and indulgent Interview, that misses the mark.

No AMBITION. Survival this season. Defeated before a ball has been kicked. And yet Captain admin employed Captain FAILED McCall yet again.

    Rahic coming back?

We've seen McCall's transfer dealing when hes left to his own devices and decided he was probably right all along? :joy:

This is heading towards a half-arsed season for the football league in general, maybe worse than the last. I'd be surprised if we get to finish our fixtures this season. It all sound like Batten down the Hatches and survive.

We haD ambition when we were twice on the cusp of the championship and moved forward every year. Without getting into debt which can spiral out of control.
Without a money bags JR is exactly right being sustainable is exactly right. However within that the right decisions have to be made. Things like doing research and finding the right manager better scouting. Now with the salary cap it’s a good opportunity to find and develop younger players rather than names on the way down.

The highlighted has got to be a wind up that's why, your questioning Julian & Mark for selling the club to two people that could take the club forward something we all wanted, how can they be held responsible for what happens once they sold, on the sale of the club they had NO input into anything with regards the club going forward.
When Rupp & Rahic took over they spoke in the T&A that there would be investment why would either of the previous owner question that comment.

Rupp understandably gets less flak than Rahic because he's less destructive. Doesn't make him a capable owner though. And the bottom line, is that Rhodes and Lawn sold to 2 blokes who've taken us backwards at am alarming rate. At the time of sale, they said they thought they were selling to 2 blokes who'd be better equipped to take the club forward. And I believe they thought that - which is my point. Rhodes is well equipped when it comes to stopping the financial bleeding of a club - and probably most businesses - but we have a reasonable question of his judgement when it comes to gauging what's needed from himself or anyone else to take a club forward.

To be fair to Rhodes, as long as someone is willing to pay what he asks for the club, which Rupp and Rahic did, its not really his concern or fault how they run it after he has gone. Its like me selling my house then the buyer complaing years down the line that the roof leaked.
