At least reply to the post we are discussing, I questioned Faithfull with regards his comment about selling the club.

I didn't question the selling of the club. I'm questioning his judgement of who it was sold to. That's my point- I hope his judgement is better this time around.

 

Maybe so. But they made the decision. They're the ones who met with R&R over a period of months and had responsibility for being diligent. The fans only had a couple of press interviews to go by, and that's it. They were taken in, ok. But he cant afford to get this one wrong, and we cant afford to take the easy, lazy or cheap option. If this club doesnt establish the leadership structure and plan to take this club forward from next season, we could be stuck in the wilderness for a long, long time. His judgement has to be better than it was last time.

Are we suggesting Rhodes & Lawn should done a backroom check on the new owners, even Rupp got that one sadly wrong, Rhodes was the one who wanted out but I don't believe even he after discussing the sale with them thought it would turn out as it did, come on the best thing since sliced bread at the time with no one disconcerting voices on here at the time.

With regards the appointment of his successor I do agree it's big appointment going forward and needs to be the right call.

You’re right though was his club to do whatever he wants, just so happens he sees himself as sorting out a mess where he set the wheels in motion.

 

They said they would invest at the time, which seemed to make both post owners and fans more than happy, I would think most sales of clubs are not done like the Portsmouth situation, anyway were 1 - 0 up

 

they were in a lot closer contact with your average city fan and the results of the sale speak for themselves. Same with yours had R + R not then proceeded to get us relegated and all the shenanigans that followed. to me that erased any good work they did initially. hindsight is a wonderful thing but we were told these guys would take us to the next level and we are now a level below with a worse team, largely through avoidable mistakes.

 

I'm sure Rupp's intentions were to take us forward, unfortunately as we know his partner was not abiding by his side of the agreement, as I have posted he has to be as guilty as Rahic for not knowing what was going on.

 

Looking at the Sheffield Wednesday mess makes me glad we're not playing high stakes poker with the future if the club.

Buying the stadium hasn't prevented any disastrous outcomes.

 

Sheff Wednesday are still a Championship club.

Bradford City have gone to div 2 are backwards.

And you would think with it being the supporters trust they were on the ball asking for guarentees with regards future spendong/finance, I'd think the majority of purchases are not done in this manner.

I think @Dennis's has summed it up well. The sale prospectus clearly stated the terms and Eisner did the deal on those terms.

 

It's not complete nonsense to think that aren't that many buyers around to agree to something like that, Bradford struggle to find a buyer full stop!

 

I don't care about his kids inheritance and if he did then he certainly shouldn't be buying a football club.

My point is that he can afford to improve the club on and off the pitch but he's deciding not too. Now loaning the club money he is doing nothing that Lawn can't do.

When other chairman loan clubs money the serious players are also investing in improving the club off the pitch and gaining them assets. Rupp is looking for repayment as soon as we make profit and I don't see how that in the long term advances the club?

Rhodes and Lawn made a massive mistake in basically not even finding out how Rupp and Edin plan to move the club forward? That plan still isn't there and we have gone backwards - That's a fact!

 

As you know to compare Portsmouth and Bradford City is not ideal, our attendances are based on very cheap season tickets where as when Pompey are going well they will fill there stadium no problem.
Again were talking a club with a lot of history and sucsess up to a point, even quite resently under Harry Redknapp, let's hope if there are potential new owners they come for the right reasons, as the majority though Rahic & Rupp had done.
