I am sure the bridge was about 150 yards north of where Hamm Strasse is now.
It came out near the bottom of Trafalgar St.
The buildings on the second picture show just where it came out on Valley Rd.
The railway turntable for Forster Sq. station was just at the BCFC side of it.
Always fun to walk across it, looking down through the gaps in the wood slats.

Yes just looking on Google Earth and as you say it looked as if it came out there, but with it being a car parking area it was difficult to visualise exactly where it came out. much better when someone like yourself can remember .

That bridge had missing treads not long before it was demolished. I once went on it and turned back, didn't fancy the drop.
Amazing that it was still open to the public. None of this elf n' safety rubbish!

got me thinking of the buses when you jumped on at off at the back corner of it, if you misjudged the jump on, at least you had a pole to try and grab. As @Onside@Onside mentions above, I wonder why we don't still have those types of buses?

Remember them very well. I was on a bus in the 60’s on my way to the Dentist on Manningham Lane, and I was getting off and was upstairs, when the bus crashed into a car in front, I tumbled down the stairs in my stilettos grabbed the pole and swung out and back on the bus. It saved me from being thrown off the bus. The conductor looked on in horror as I landed back in front of him. I just laughed it off. Well you do when you 16 years old.

Ageing Routemaster buses had to go up some Bradford hills in first gear. It was always funny how they tried to struggle on in second. If they changed down to first early they could keep some momentum. If they struggled on too long in second, the bus had stopped by the time they had dropped to first and they'd wear the clutch as they struggled to get going again. Because they were such a pain on hills, they'd happily let you jump on and off at top speed - which was not a lot in first gear! Jumping on and off was easy as a young lad - but it was interesting when there was a foot of lumpy snow at the roadside in winter! They were chuffing cold in winter too. Kids these days don't know they're born - warmer winters and doors on buses! And their biggest problem was not the slow climbs; it was rapid descents. They had very dodgy brakes!
