    Thank you for posting this fascinating insight. There have been occasions when I have felt some referees at Valley Parade adopt the " I am not going to be swayed by the big home support" attitude.

    Every single forum in the country thinks their team never get any decisions. It's not a popular view but I think the standard of refereeing is very good. The problem is fans who can't deal with an impartial observer making judgements on decisions when they believe everything should go their way. One thing is guaranteed, the standard of refereeing is as good as its ever going to get. Fast forward 30, 40, 50 years and fans, managers and players will still be bemoaning the standard of refereeing.

    I think you and I are very much on the same page about officials.
    Tonight was a prime example.
    Our fans constantly picking on the fact that their throw in takers were gainining yards yet completely ignoring Halliday doing exactly the same.
    Fans will always be blinkered.
    I stick by my theory that there are good refs and poor refs.
    It’s really that simple.
