Reece Staunton has signed a professional deal. For those who pay attention to the youth setup does he have a chance of making it?

Congratulations to Reece. He looks so young!

Werent a few clubs keeping tabs on him last year?. If they still are, at least signing him on pro terms means we could command a fee if there is any interest in future

Think he is currently on loan at BPA and got Man of the Match in his first appearance!

Good bit of Buisness and home grown . Loan will do him good and would leave him at the Stan’s for rest of the season to give him games .

He isn't on a proper loan but a Work Experience loan. These aren't actually playing loans, the point of them is to get non-football job experience, he will be there doing things like office work or maybe shadowing coaches or the medical team.

BPA through play low enough that players don't actually need to be registered as such he can play while still being registered for City. Even the PL teams do it, they will send players to these lower league even though the playing levels most likely too low but its better they get some play time rather than going to a EFL club where they couldn't play football for the period of the work experience loan

Really hope he does make it with us. We have prayed for a junior to come through for god knows how long.

No, a work experience player is a scholarship player on loan in the National League from a club outside the National League. They complete the football part of their scholarship at the NL club on a non contract basis but not the academic part. It’s for scholarship players only.

Is it cynical to suggest this signing is to replace Devine who is leaving and Sykes-Kenworthy is going out on loan again and we need a homegrown player for the bench?

A very poor, factually incorrect post. He's been playing football for them:

    Yes! Stop being so miserable!

He's earned his contract through his hard work and some talent. Good luck Reece, hope its the first contract of many.
