so, with knowing that we’ve got outgoings in excess of £250k for pitch maintenance, £400k in stadium rent and a £700k loss from last season - what do people realistically expect for a budget?

the owners have stated, and i agree, that the club should not be put at financial risk - we’ve already had enough of that in recent years.

and for what it’s worth - mcardle left for £5.5k/week on a 3-year deal. plus we need a manager who doesn’t let players skip training but keeps playing them on a weekend - that’ll cause dressing room unrest and resentment. inevitably leading to a downturn in results.

At this moment in time, I'd settle for a top half budget - wherein hopefully the pitch repairs are well subsidised from other revenue. I hope our back room staff have a great holiday, whilst still focusing on increased and better promotion in terms of sponsorship for our club. I have led many teams (employees) to success over the years - By all means aspire to greatness, but sell well, and promote that which you already HAVE, as best you can.

Just for clarification we made £100k profit last season.

As I posted, on another thread a couple of days ago, I believe Rahic's £700k deficit reference, referred to the situation the new owners inherited when they took over, that is that the Club was spending £700k more than its income, without any extraordinary income such as cup runs, play offs, player sales. Of course, under Phil Parkinson a series of successes masked the underlying position.

More recently, I think it was at the player of the year, evening, Stefan indicated that they had got the Club to a break even position. I guess we'll find out when the accounts are 'published', probably around March next year. This season will have had little, if any extraordinary income, so it will be a good indication of the current underlying position.

Don't mind us having a low budget, but if it is low we can't afford any passengers.

Every player in our squad needs to be first team ready, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Don't know where you get your info from but I can tell you 100% Rory isn't on £5.5k a week at scunny. The rent with the Gibb Pension fund is £350k per year as for the pitch I have no idea but have heard two different quotes one of less than £100k and another touching £300k make of that as you will.

Similar to what I heard for the pitch, £150k and £400k. Although I also heard that we were going for the more expensive option to get fans on side!!

Personally I think it’s bollocks but time will tell

If as it has been rumoured we have a budget of 2 million this year that is average for this league and with cheap tickets we probably have an average income. However the bonus system could push this much higher if we are successful there is also the possibility of more money if Wyke moves and should McBurnie move that will increase it still further so we could have a much bigger budget than expected

Do we honestly think Wyke and McBurnie will go for massive amounts. Personally think Wyke will go for 750k tops and McBurnie around 2.5 million, giving us around 400k. Total budget of around 3.1million, is this enough to get us up?

I think if we have £3 mill it will be a competitive budget, not automatic, but could be in the playoffs. However depends on how we spend it.

If it's like other transfers we won't get the money from the sale of Wyke and McBurnie upfront. Nobody really knows what the budget will be, the quality and amount of players brought to the club in the summer will give a good indication of how competitive we will be.

We don’t have a deficit of £700, Rupp stated all the finances had been brought into line at the POTY awards.

Trouble is there are no guarantees that there won't be any passengers, and we have to have quality on the bench as we saw this season once you got past the starting 11 we struggled for like for like quality wise.

Because of windfalls . That 700k is the difference between income and the budget. This year it will be double that

Very true mate and the other side of the debate is also relevant, that when we got Wyke Carlisle would not have received £250,000 up front nor did Wimbledon or Accrington, when we got Reeves or McCartan.

So we sell Wyke at maybe £500k , how much would a viable replacement cost ? . We will have a lower midtable budget which will reflect my predicted struggle next season.

Don’t think the new gaffer will have much to work with. The priority should be getting key players that are out of contract this summer sorted such as Doyle. Then you’ll know what you’ve got to work with in terms of a starting point. As I’ve mentioned in other threads I think it’s a major bonus that we’ve got McGowan, Reeves & Jones coming back from long term injury.
