Ray Clemence passed away, great keeper in his time shame Peter Shilton was around at the same time, as good a keeper as he was he couldn't stop Big Bobby from putting us in front against Liverpool.

The England team were certainly blessed with 2 world class 'keepers at that time.
    RIP.

It was Terry Dolan's free kick that Ray Clemence made a good save from and Bobby gambled on him not being able to hold onto it. Bobby said as much on Calender the following evening. He was a very good keeper, for Liverpool, Tottenham and England. Skegness lad who like Kevin Keegan started out at Scunny.

Yes I was at the game it was a great night, they were a different team once Dalglish was back for the second leg at their place.

Thought we had a chance of not getting hammered at home when I saw Kenny Dalglish helping carry in the kit basket. My big memory of that first leg at Valley Parade (apart from Bobby's goal) was just in front of me and the wife in the main stand paddock there was Graeme Souness knelt down putting his boot back on with Lammie Robertson who had just fouled him, stood behind Souness miming the Liverpool player's choice of sexual preference.

Think they're slightly out on the year, by about a month. Pretty sure it was December 76, just before Christmas.
I was there standing in the Chicken Run, but down towards the other end. I do remember it for three reasons, the dog, the fact we actually beat them and it was the debut for us of John Radford (Arsenal double winning striker), who immediately became our Kurtis Guthrie 28 games 0 goals

I love it when proper football fans remember things from donkeys years ago just because it happened at a game .Why does the brain keep these things so vivid and yet you forget what colour the wife’s eyes are.

It’s weird though.I remember Stoke away at their old ground from mid 90s maybe
and a city fan spent most of the game on his mobile.I have seen him fairly recently at games and I still in my head called him “mobile phone man”.
Wife’s eyes are blue btw or green or brown
