How would a Billy Sharp song go btw?

 

In my eyes Hughes wanted his signing to play and used a poor performance against Carlisle as an excuse.

Does 16 in 23 suggest he needed a kick up the arse too you ?

 

Fair enough. I've just read it on here plenty of times and feels similar to the times Windass and Blake were hammered despite contributing more than most.

As to the reason he was dropped, I suppose you'd have to ask MH but my thoughts at the time were similar to @Goose whereby I think that Hughes wanted to play his own signing and get him doing the job he obviously believed he could do when he signed him.

That didn't work out of course and Cook once again went on to make himself undroppable. I certainly don't think there was any inspired managerial decision behind it to somehow reinvigorate Cook, in fact quite the opposite. I thought it was a mistake at the time and I still do now.

 

That's because Sharpe is a TV program.

 

No striker who is scoring regularly is ever tired. Never hear of Haaland being tired.

 

Should have stuck with Lee Sharpe, we've probably more chance of signing him again than Billy.

 

I'd be surprised if he ever joined us after one of our fans gave his family sickening abuse a few years ago.

Hope i'm wrong though, what a signing that would be.

 

Just had a Donny friend text me saying he’s joining us but I’m not sure. Apparently he’d agreed terms and had visited the stadium a few times but we supposedly came in late with an offer he couldn’t refuse.

At 37 his options won’t be that great

 

I think he’ll be off to Saudi Arabia, I hear they’re pretty generous with contracts for over the hill type players.

Highly likely we'll be playing 3-5-2.

We've got two excellent CB and so will get another 'ball playing' one.

Halliday can already play as a WB and I don't see either of the two like LB's having an issue, which is why Foulds days are numbered.

 

Especially with someone of the pedigree of Billy Sharp. Those two would fire us to promotion, no doubt about that. (Can't see Billy coming here though!)

 

Maybe Scot Banks will pick him up at Meadowhall on his way up to re-sign.
