I don't agree he was miles better BL. Yesterday was the first time I watched the match while listening to the commentary and it struck me that if I was relying on the audio alone it would be hard to judge what was going on but I appreciate it was the first time so they'll improve.

One specific example was the number of times there was a free kick "in a dangerous position" but that means different things to different people. He needs to describe positionally where it is such as midway between the penalty area and halfway line or ten metres in from the left touchline or something otherwise you're guessing what's going on.

Also, he can't be doing the summarising bit as well as Kiwomya because then they're basically doing the same thing and when the ball is out or play has stopped he needs to give Kiwomya chance to talk because he waffles on for ages and then he's summarising while play is going on and suddenly we've lost the ball when we had a throw in or something and now they're suddenly attacking and it's so disjointed you can't follow.

Biggest gripe for me was he has to describe the action positionally on the pitch because what I was watching didn't really tie along with what he was commentating on on a number of occasions.

Tim was good at giving Kiwomya space to talk. Maybe they'll get better over time. The third guy who chipped in from time to time had some helpful points I thought.

A good constructive reply BB, some good points there. It was his first commentary and as with anything in life there’s always room for improvement. Tim wasn’t my cup of tea and I feel the new guy will be better in the long run.
