I was offered the position of manager of there when it was a Mr Q's. It just wasn't getting enough people through the door to keep going. They wanted me to go in and turn it around and my reply was it was in the wrong location for a long term future, they didn't believe me and then spent money on it but it never worked again and eventually closed due to lack of custom

When at Uni we used to do the Leeds Road pub crawl from Thornberry Barracks all the way back to Great Horton Road. 20 plus pubs. It was carnage. Be lucky to get tipsy now!!

Spent a bit of time in the Farmers boy and Junction in my very early twenties. I think they’ve both gone now, I know the Junction has been demolished.

Wellington, Harrogate Road. Had my first proper job there stocking bar and cellar when I was about 13/14 on a Sunday ( plus had paper rounds). Got to watch City away from home with the money .....great memories.

Slightly off topic but the earnings.....

Never drink in Bradford as I don't live close enough to it. Sad to see so many Pub shut down though. In the village i currently live in, we've lost 2 pubs over the past 8 years or so. Just a WM club left. Awful really.

Didn’t you like the Malt Kiln.

I used to live on Idle Road opposite The Green Man.

Robin Hood One of the best pubs ever.

Isn't the Green Man closed now? I went in about 2 years ago, just the same as 20 years prior....areas change.......I can recall loads on Leeds Rd BD3, I used to meet my pal outside the Reynolds factory 5pm Friday and just head towards town,The Napier, The Lemon Tree, The Cemetery, White Bear, Waggon & Horses, Oak Inn, The Albion.

The Junction is the pub I miss most, it had a reet eclectic mix of clientele, young and old, been nothing like it since it closed and Bradford's totally lost it's soul anyhow.

On the other hand I can think of 4 bars that have opened withing a mile of my house in 2 years, no point in fighting change or reminiscing about the past, I go out to Baildon, Saltaire, Idle or Leeds and have a great time.

Even though it was right on my doorstep I never went as the beer was atrocious. The Sun inn at Cottingley shut over the weekend. Never really a drinkers pub and has been on the decline for years.

I'm too young to have ever drank in here, but we lived close by, and I remember it been there as a kid.

In adulthood I'm back in that area, living just up the road.

Never trust a flat roofed pub. I think the saying goes.

    Proper bus there too.
