Who buys one I hear there may not be one next season. For the Tranmere match which had 17.000 plus gate apparently we sold about 400.

I bought them home and away for about 30 years. However, probably not bought one now since we dropped out of the Premiership.

Still bought the City Gent up until about 10 years ago.

They could publish one online that fans can access with a QR code, it would save on printing costs and they could embed videos

I'm more inclined to buy one when we're doing well and have something to look forward to...

WHU programmes are downloadable, usually free if it's a TV game, or you can buy a physical copy at matches @ £3.60, or subscribe for £108 a season for all home games incl Cup & Carabao posted the day before the game

I always liked to buy programmes from away games but the quality of them is now dreadful.
Haven't bought home ones for years for the same reason.
    They are a dying institution.

    Spot on.

Yet when I was a kid in the early 60 ‘s lots of pennies were spent with the program seller / collector who used to stand at the back of the old stand on South Parade.

I think I still have quite a few City ones in the loft, inc the disaster game going back a bit.

I still buy them but it is more out of habit, the quality of the paper and the content has got worse in the last couple of years. With it no longer being compulsory for programmes to be printed I can see a lot of clubs deciding against it as the numbers sold with be decreasing a lot. Felt like they were starting to phase them out with 2 double issues this season so wouldn't surprise me if they stopped them and brought them back if we had a big game.

The last programme I bought was Chelsea v Bradford in 2015. I will be keeping that one!
I have lots of programmes from the second half of the 1990s. Not particularly attached to them though.

Used to love a program, gave a real insight into the away side, ceo/managers thoughts and some other interesting articles. The quality is very poor these days. I’ve stopped buying them and can see why everyone else has too.

With the amount of information available online there isn't much you can't find out for free. Obviously before internet, programmes and local papers were your only hands on source of information, so were essential for getting the lowdown on the opponents and thoughts from the chairman.
In the past I only ever bought from away grounds to prove I'd been to the match and keep record of which grounds I'd been to. I also bought the first home game programme but haven't bothered for years now.

When i was a kid they were the main way of staying in the loop and were essential. Nowadays, the advent of the internet has rendered them a bit pointless as plenty of fans stay up to date online.

As they say to McLane in Die Hard 4.0…

‘you are an analogue watch stuck in a digital age’.

What info is there in the programme that’s making it an essential purchase? We can see the pre match press conferences and snippets on social media nowadays and radio leeds release digital content out there you can listen to at a time that suits, at the click of a few buttons.

I am amazed the City gent still hasn’t gone digital yet either.
