Everybody in the media wearing black. Only a matter of time before a formal announcement is made. God save the queen.

Noticed Charles breaking all the covid regulations yesterday
Feel for the people who have lost loved ones and were unable to be with them
Care home residents not seen family for over a year
One rule for the privileged and another for everyone else

current rules allow people to visit in such circumstances. We were allowed to visit brother in law when he was close

Not really. My Dad passed from covid in November and I was allowed 4 or 5 times into the intensive care ward to spend his last hours with him. I had to be fully prepped prior to entering, wore full safety gear whilst there and went through decontamination on leaving so felt perfectly safe. The only downside was that it seemed to be pretty demanding on the already overrun staff on the ward.

The explanation I was told was that during the assumed "end of life" care period one relative at a time is allowed time with their loved ones. Presumably Charles was that "one" visitor.

All the reports I have seen he will be home by midweek
Would have been the same before any rule changes eg Dominic Cummins

You are 100% correct on that as we did the same with my wife’s mum in September. She knew she was on her way so asked if she could come home as she knew in hospital only 1 person could visit .

Reading about him prompted me to do a Google search. I came across a site that listed some of the things he's said. Certainly had me chuckling at some of his foot in mouth moments.

Thanks pal, hardest thing I've ever done and seeing a little girl of about 12 on a ventilator opposite my dad will live with me forever.

How the doctors and nurses coped with those surroundings day in day out and still made time to make sure relatives like myself were OK and understood everything is beyond my understanding. Absolute heroes one and all.
