    He probably has a point mind you that some kind of reorganisation across the board is needed as championship clubs have to spend way too much to compete with relegated prem clubs and to have a squad that has a viable base to build a PL squad from. His idea I’m not sure helps do anything but move that step up issue from the PL/championship to the Championship/league 1

    The better idea would be to stop the huge parachute payments from the PL. That would only impact 3 clubs a year (rather than 48) and it would make the Championship much more competitive.
