Pre-season

And a decent manager in charge

Let's be honest, we could have been as organised as we wanted last season, as soon as Micky Cliché was announced our season was only going to go one way. At least this time we have a manager who seems to know what he 's doing.

 

I think its a million miles away from what we were probably expecting 6 weeks ago. A couple of new signings coming in possibly, some of the old stuff going out. Quite a turn around in the optimism level.

 

The trialists haven’t arrived yet, delivery date is expected
From Monday 24/6/19 onwards

 

Hopefully a double barrelled name or two and a random African or South American will be in the mix.

 

It’s a much more organised approach than 12 months ago. It’s not revolutionary- it’s getting the foundations and basics right, but it’s key.

4-5 Out, 5-6 of the right quality in, and it could be a really good and enjoyable season.

So only Drury left from the clusterfxxk of last season. Given the ins and outs GB must rate the guy for him to remain as his no 2. Won’t have been easy for Drury last year so let’s hope for all our sakes and his in particular next year is a positive one

 

Hopefully @Bronco is down there today with his camera so we can identify some trialists

 

He will be up a tree as it's not raining as yet.

With the exception of a couple more potential signings and maybe one or two departures I’d say the squad we have now is what we’re using this season. Makes a nice change to have a full pre season too work on the team and tactics without question marks over last minute signings and staff changes etc.

I don’t know much about most of the players we’ve signed but at least we’ve approached this season in a far more organised and professional manner than last season (not saying much) and the signings have tried to address the major weaknesses we had in the squad, notably the tinpot defence and toothless strikeforce.
