Brighouse tonight with another outing of first team players

 

This is true and some matches last season showed it when we resorted to long balls. He tries hard but just doesn't seem to jump well or at the right time or something. Not sure what it is but agree, he doesn't win a lot of the long hopeful hoof type of balls.

 

I think he's just shorter than the CBs, it's often 2 on one as he's up there alone, and it's always easier to defend a long ball than attack one... if ever it comes in at chest height to him he tends to outmuscle the defender and bring it under control. If we're wanting to resort to long balls at any point we need a bigger target man

Well I am off to the game on Saturday, I am a little disappointed that tickets are £10 across the board regardless of age. £10 is great for adults but under 11s probably sees a family of 5 decide against paying £50 for a friendly over say £26 if it was £2 for kids.

 

Does the £5 for concessions not cover kids?

 

Lockdown must have erased that from the grey cells.

last night it was £10 adults £1 kids. However my kids were under isolation from a school bubble. As they are now clear with no school I can safely buy tickets for Saturday without fearing another bout of isolation.

 

It seems Derek forgot we are playing Brighouse tonight as he talked on about our next match at “Eckersley Hill”, but we’ll let him off, he’s been busy!!

 

Interesting to read that Adams sees Reece Staunton as a midfielder rather than a central defender.

 

I was impressed with him after his 45 mins against Avenue. I believe I said at the time. I would have thought Adams would be less inclined to heap praise on players but he didn’t hold back in that article. We all keep saying it,I know, but if he can keep his focus, he may turn out to be one of the seasons most astute signings. Maybe , just maybe, he knows that himself too? Repaying the faith if you like?
Clearly he’s been up against amateurs and semi professionals so far, but if you can dance around those and finish well…who knows?

As Adams alludes to, at the start of his career he was scoring in L1. He also ripped Morecambe a new one last year. So he definitely has the ability to do it for us.
Sounds to me like Adams is a good man manager who knows which players need the boot up the backside and which need the arm round the shoulder and confidence boost. I'm pretty sure, from what I know of him, that Lee Angol is one of the latter. Hopefully he'll repay Adams' faith in him.

 

Why would he do that Adams knows all about him he also knows we need another striker
