We’re at that stage what the forum gets to every season by this point, we desperately need the season to start.

They aren't just crisps, they are Bradford crisps. Show me another crisp manufacturer who does Tomato Ketchup, Roast chicken, Canadian Ham, Pickled Onion etc without throwing some poncy ingredient like balsamic vinegar, mature cheddar, cracked black pepper or cornish sea salt in ?

Quite a few "robust" challenges going in from a fairly physical Guiseley side, but City dealt well with it, scored a couple of decent goals and chalked up another win. On the whole, a good workout. (And it was bloody great to see a live City game again!)
-
Yes, good workout against a robust Guiseley who look it bit further on than fellow NLN opposition BPA !. Setting up 3-5-2 clearly wasnt working ? So switched it mid first half after Lions went 1-0 !. Threlkeld went awol on the left to leave Staunton filling in and out run on outside by their impressive no 11. who puts over for busy Felix fire home. Wake up call for City who were in a battle to get back on terms. Lots of ball up to Cook who was persistantly losing out to the two Big ! Guiseley centre halfs !. Eventually Angol playing in from left gets a great shot in on goal that fair hits the net 1-1. Then just before half time after a bit of foot work into the box Angols brought down before finding "right angol" on the pen to put City 2-1 before the break .
No ones standing out for me all 6s & 5s ? We persisted with balls up to Cook who toiled away but most were met by their 7ft defenders head and straight back at us !. Had to try a different tactic ? Try get ball wide to Gilliead who to me is more the artisan winger than out and out to the line and cross it !. Cook is requiring to supply from the flank if we cannot find him with straight balls up. But it never happened. Largely Sonogo was quiet and little influence.
We made changes around 65 mins with Vernam; Eisa; Evans entering the fray. Not able to have much impact as Guiseley looked for the leveller. O'Donnell did well to charge down a late effort on goal from a run into the box and close range
All in all extra minutes and defo a good physical challenge from Guiseley who should do well this season. I think Adams saw enough to know he will need to do more work with the players if he is to change formation ftom his tried and ttusted. The first XI is becoming clear minus ''the striker" we need to add to squad at no 10. ? Cook will need some support if he is up against Guiseley style centre backs this season ?
Angol gets MOM . and might prove an astute signjng and offer some competition and an option from the bench ? . On to Brighouse tomorrow.Kevin1954, Fordy117, Hulmebantam and 3 others like this. -

Full house, some refreshments sold, good for Brighouse. It’ll be well received by them financially. Shame Eccleshill will lose out though.

Feeling quite positive about the direction the Club is taking. Ryan obviously is a person of integrity and he has assembled a like minded team that is really making progress in attracting business interest and matching the drive and energy shown on the pitch. If he continues to make progress we will be in the best position financially than for a number of years. I hope success on the pitch will help increase the viability further and finally put us on the front foot in believing again.

This pre-season seems to be handled very professionally and a million miles away from the McCall days of seeing players pissed as a fart on a German stage. After that stunt it was no major surprise that Edin couldn't wait to sack him.
Adams already knows his starting line up and I don't think Stuart ever really knew what his best one was, and Bowyer just took the micky with the team he sent to Brighouse.
