    Not much out towards the new ground pub wise so definitely worth staying in town till late on . I know they do a shuttle bus up but seemed to take a age when I went in the FA cup last season so reckon taxi is best bet

    Yes it has a decent range of venues in the City. I have never been to the new ground but form is form for new builds. I always enjoyed York except on Race days. Give me a beered up footy fan over a beered up Trilby any day of the week!

    If it is to be a big game they are running out of time to get tickets on sale with it being less than 3 weeks until the match.
    So far the Premier League teams who've not got a match on the same day or likely to be traveling or have travelled aboard are Bournemouth, Fulham, Man City, Newcastle, Southampton and Wolves.

    My Grandson is offering to drive I think he’s trying to keep me off the Ale . I do like a pre match stroll round York though.

    Avenue are selling tickets for the friendly on 1st July, £8 per adult. Got mine Thursday via the old man who only found they were on sale when he went to buy his BPA season ticket.

    There were rumours it was going to be all ticket however that doesn't appear to be case now though

    Some mentioned to me that they think it might be Wolves as their tour to America has been cancelled after the cup they were due to play in has been binned by the MLS https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-preseason-tour-united-states-24066388

    Either of Newcastle or Wolves would be good matches for pre-season and realistically the best we can hope for in terms of stature of the club with it being very unlikely to get the very top teams.

    Not sure why it needed some sort of build up, but hopefully they have a team by then and not just a bunch of kids so we can get a good run out.
