The best they can do for Stephen is to emulate his work ethic, and give their all for City.

 

Sadly, it's become so predictable ........... both in word, and outcome. I no longer read these articles.

 

I worry that the current City side is ill-equipped to put in the sort of performance we'd consider a fitting tribute to Darb's circumstances.

And I agree - talking about it beforehand is ill-advised.

I've been struggling to get overly interested in our games recently. And the news about Darby this week make me even less interested in results at the minute.

 

I know exactly what you mean. I literally had no intention of going to Doncaster until I heard that terrible news this week. I started to think about Stephen and how he used to play, his never ever give up attitude and I just thought we can’t give up either, and if he was still here, he would be telling us to get down there and support the team. Yes I am still very sad, but also he loved his job, wasn’t the most talented, but proved to the highest footballers in the land, you don’t have to be, but if you work hard as a team you can win matches against the greatest. If he can tackle this illness and deal with his abrupt ending of his career, then I can certainly support our team, and be thankful we are in good health.
