6500 who paid £10 for a ticket. I fail to see how that supports the theory of doubling season ticket prices? Also, as others have said, the whole ground needs maintaining regardless which is likely part of our lease conditions. And clearly you're conveniently forgetting the times in the past 10-15 years when a 20k crowd has created a great atmosphere; imagine how much better the atmosphere would have been if there had been 15k+ City fans last night. I'd argue the impact of a better performance last night contributed more to the atmosphere than the removal of half the season ticket base.

I can't think of any mass-market business or sports team who has ever been successful by actively trying to reduce it's number of customers/fans. Add to that reduced commercial income from fewer fans and this becomes one of the most short-sighted, bonkers, proposals I've seen on here and that's saying something.

I really hope I'm ranting at a tongue in cheek comment as I'd hate to think someone could actually be this dim.

Don't think the pitch helped our strikers when pivoting to get shots off. Many shots were with back to goal and pivoting to get shot off. On grass it would have been far easier and maybe with a better result.

Looks like Youngs injury is worse than first thought and will be out for a while.

I posted this in another thread, but seems appropriate here the way the conversation has gone:

"Read/ heard a news item recently (can't remember exactly where) about Middlesborough FC increasing ST prices by 6% making the cheapest Adult ticket over £500 (most appear well over £600). I guess that's roughly what we would be paying if in the Championship.

But the real interesting part was the alleged fact that another CC club had worked out that despite ticket price increases, and because of increasing costs generally it would cheaper for the Club to pay each fan £10 to stay away each week and have an empty ground. Maybe an extreme example but if true, another example of the revenue required the further you go up the pyramid, and that ST revenue becomes relatively less important".

    He certainly isn't dim! ;)

He likes to occasionally employ a hook, line and sinker approach with some of his posts for a bit of fun. And he's already caught a few today!

We just need to win at Barrow by hook or by Crook (or should it be Cook) and use that performance last night as the catalyst to kick on.

It was in February that we were annihilated at Wembley in the League Cup final and had a mountain to climb (albeit games in hand) circa 2013, and we ground out an ugly win away at York, with Gary (oh Gary Thompson runs down the wing for me) Thompson bagging, that started a mini run and strong end to that season. We know how that ended.

There might be a few tired players on Saturday but the fans appreciated the players efforts - clear on social media and in the stands - and it could be the rallying moment to get behind the team now we have just one focus now.

Kev, didn’t GA hint in interview that Young has a long term issue?

Not sure. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me after the Dec antics at Swindon. Shame if it’s accurate.

We don't have to give teams any more we deem necessary for league games though do we?

Make them make do with the two blocks in the midland road that's more than suffice, and nobody does us any favours why should we bend over backwards for them?

Because EFL regulation 35.3.1 states "Each Club must make provision for at least 2,000 visiting supporters at every home match or such number as represents 10% of the Club’s certified capacity, if less than 2,000."

Just wait until the end of the season and then don't sell season tickets on a few more rows of the midland road.

If the segregated area moves on that little bit more then surely that's enough, what do away fans currently get in the midland road, it can't be much under 2000.

Isnt there a safe segregation bylaw to that rule what you have quoted above, I'm sure we've had it done to us a few times? We got below what was allowed at Carlisle in the play off semi final due to that

Well, let's start off by saying we can beat Barrow to help with that!

Barrow is a bit of a benchmark for me. Lot of folk said same about Sutton but, let's be honest, at home, we had to find a way to beat them.

Barrow, on the other hand, have been a bit of a bogey side since they got promoted. Since 2020 we've played 7 times and we've only won 2 (both 2-1 wins). It was pretty even head to head until we lost the last three conceding six and only scoring three.

They have also been in brilliant form and find themselves above us so a win at their place would be a statement and would be a match where everyone else is hoping they beat us.

It's also kind of a free hit and we shouldn't be settling for a draw. A draw keeps us 7 points behind them. We're not going to catch them if we draw on Saturday so while scores are level we should be doing our best to win. If its level and we try and win and we end up losing, so what, 7 points behind them, 10 points behind them, it makes no difference but if we can find an edge and win the game then it will be a massive boost, bring us within four points of them and another loss and it'll be a point. They will be worried.

(P.s. sorry @The Voice@The Voice if I stole your thunder...!)

Been in brilliant form? They've lost their last 3 and only won twice out of 9 games played in 2024. Should be an ideal time to play them but we all know what happens in these kinds of scenarios.....

One big positive for me is McDonald. His presence in midfield and his use of the ball transforms the way we play. And it allows Gillead to play at left wingback which I think is his best position, and marked upgrade on Ridehalgh.

The worry is whether McDonald can play week in, week out. Young up front instead of Smith, and that team is one Id fancy for the playoffs.
