Sounds similar to Southampton back in 2009, when the Football League ruled that the two companies were inextricably linked. Despite the company owning the football club not going into administration, Southampton were deducted 10 points.

That's very true since in the Southampton case, the company which owned the ground was part of the same Group structure as the company which represented the club. The EFL Rules regards such a Group Undertaking as it's known as the same company. That means that if the Group Undertaking were to become insolvent, the penalty, ie the points deduction, is incurred by the football club. I suspect many clubs would have reviewed their Group structure following the Southamption case!

Whether that impacts Posh in the same way is questionable and depends on the Group structure of their companies. A cursory look suggests that the two Posh companies which separately own the club and the ground are not part of the same Group ownership ... despite having the same shareholders. On the face of it, that's different to the Southamption situation. As in many of these cases, the devil is in the detail of the company structure. It probably explains why DMac is so relaxed with the situation.

Unless I am reading this incorrectly, the owner of the lender seeking repayment of the loan also part-owns the stadium? Interesting situation.

Heads up Posh fans: Some news will come out today. FYI club is all good & fine. Nothing changes re club from the news. All will be excellent in time. Don't panic or speculate. Trust in me when I say that :). 17 years allows me politely to ask that. Cheers.

It's the firm that owns the stadium that owes the money, not the football club.
