Should the Saturday rule for TV/Streams be relaxed if we are forced to play behind closed doors?

Worst comes to worst and our games are forced to play behind closed doors do you think the rule where 3PM Saturday kick offs cannot be shown on TV or streamed via iFollow in UK/Ireland should be relaxed?

I think 100% yes if we are forced to play behind closed doors. If it happens, Season ticket holders should be given free access to watch the games on Saturday at 3PM via iFollow without the need for a VPN to bypass the Saturday 3PM rule (I live in Belfast and use a VPN myself sometimes and buy a USA $7 match pass). Then Flexi card holders should be given half price match passes and then the rest of us who go on a game by game basis when we can just pay the £10 for the match pass like we usually would on a midweek game.

I think it would be a good idea because clubs like ours need the ticket revenue and if we’re forced to play behind closed doors we could really do with money still coming in from things like iFollow. (I’m assuming we get a fair cut of the iFollow money?)

What say all of you ?

I’m over on Saturday myself for the Orient game! I was originally due to come in from Belfast City with Flybe direct into Bradford. Thankfully my insurance covers airline failure so I’ve rebooked from Belfast to Liverpool, then making my way from Liverpool to Bradford then on my way back going from Bradford to Dublin then back to Belfast so quite a bit of a longer journey ahead. But hey ho this isn’t gonna stop me coming over this weekend. I’ve thankfully managed to get one bottle of hand sanitiser for the journey on public transport.

Regardless of what happens I wish everyone good health and we’re absolutely gonna win when I’m over on Saturday... just one more question... have the club filled up the soap dispensers in the toilets??

    See you all on Saturday!

My worry is its the slippy slope that gets the 3PM blackout removed and that would hit the gates for alot of clubs because casual fans are more likely to pay to watch the Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City and the likes and not the clubs in the lower divisions that they might casually go and watch because its local.

Obviously behind closed doors games is going to cause serious problems for clubs as an empty stadium doesn't cost much less to operate a match in than a full one so even if all the fans who would attend don't buy that clubs match but some other teams match some money coming in would be better than none

@PlatinumChaosX@PlatinumChaosX - hope your hand sanitizer is less than 100ml otherwise the bag checkers will have it! But like you, hoping to be at the game. Fingers crossed.

Do they stop you specifically for sanitizers and the like? Don't stop you bringing in drinks

The rule is 100ml for liquids unless they are in checked bags. That's why people have to throw their bottles water in bins going through security.

If it comes to it then live streaming on a pay-to-view basis is going to be the only choice for clubs in leagues 1& 2.
There was some interesting comments from the Tranmere chairman saying he expects some clubs to fold without fan revenue. So live streaming seems the only option to keep some form of income coming in.
We sure can't rely on the EPL or FA to help out.
As there will be no fans at games kick offs could be moved to circumvent the UEFA rule around live games.
I'm sure I saw something on social, posted by the club, saying they get £8 from every sign up to a live game.
