POTG fans last season would have been very, very minimal. The football was absolutely dire for the majority and not many are paying £25 to watch that. In fact, I'd say many more might have been inclined to put ifollow and at least bet the club a percentage of that money.

I don't think it does mean that but brackets usually means a negative figure. So technically a negative loss is a profit

 

Operating profit is shown as a positive amount (no brackets).

Operating loss is shown in brackets. The "Operating loss" is merely the description. Of course, the figure in brackets is the deficiency.

I disagree on one point and that is the last one. The line is listed as operating loss, so a negative amount of operating loss is a profit. It should either be labeled operating profit, and then the negative would mean it is a loss or labeled as operating profit/loss

 

For Christ's sake, the "Operating Loss" narrative is a heading, not part of an arithmetical calculation of the figure in brackets!!

 

For Christ sake by definition a negative, as shown by brackets, operating loss is a profit. It is so crystal clear they even use the thing of putting both (loss)/profit on one of the lines further down

 

Follow the figures through. Its clearly a loss irrespective of if its in brackets, red, highlighted or has a negative in front of it £6million income will never generate an £8million profit
