    I thought the same. I was sure I heard we were going to sort out the drainage system with hasn't been updated for 20+ years.

    Not at all. They're installing an extensive drainage system on top of everything else.

    I got the impression from the video that they were just doing the vertidrain? Which just adds more drainage holes to the pitch. I didn't get the impression they were digging the pitch up and re-laying the drains which is what it really needs.

    From the T&A today

    Surface stripping took place yesterday as the top 30-40mm of the pitch was removed, with major drainage work due to start on Thursday.
    That will see the primary drains 45cm below the surface – which have been there since 1987 – replaced.

    Agreed. And it's a simple and informative piece on what is being done to improve the playing surface. There is none of the recent 'we've listened to the fans concerns' nonsense and it just deals with the facts of the situation.

    I hope that there are more of this style of article which might help to curb the proliferation of half-truths, unfounded rumours and suppositions which seem to be the mainstay of social media.
