I'm no happy clapper. This season had been the worst i can remember and I've hit some personal lows like twice staying to the end to give the team a piece of my mind in a not very friendly way. Like to think I'm a naturally patient and mild mannered person ordinarily but I've been driven to it!

However I do think there's a fair amount of catastrophizing going on at the moment. Yesterday we met a couple of Blackpool supporters - father and daughter. He was in his 60s, lifetime fan who'd not watched his team for 4 years, along with thousands of others in protest at the Oyston regime. It's all been well documented but headlines are, convicted rapist (fit and proper hmmm) and equally odious son use the club as a cash cow whilst overseeing 3 consecutive relegations. Chuck into that taking fans to court for making comments on social media and generally lording and seemingly getting a kick out of being so reviled.

We shared a few pre match pints and swapped stories about the highs and lows of supporting our team. He was like a kid on christmas day as he'd genuinely thought he'd never watch Blackpool again, it was endearing to see. It made me appreciate that as fans we have more in common than not. As we said our goodbyes I joked that chatting with them would probably be the highlight of our day, and so it was!

I know we've seen years of progress undone and suffered from an owners arrogance. I don't know what the future will bring in terms of ownership but I believe the club is big enough to bounce back. I also believe that us fans are a massive factor in that. I want more than anything this season to just be done with and consigned to the memory as one to forget.

Come next year I'll be back supporting the team. I love city and won't give up on them so easily. Hearing about what blackpool supporters went through did make me appreciate that it could be worse.
