Paul Jewell absolutely nailing it here. Some stand out lines:

"I just feel that since Phil Parkinson left there’s been no long-term vision from the club.

"It’s been a case of, ‘let’s get a manager and we’ll get 15,000-16,000 in and that guarantees promotion.’ Well, it doesn’t.

"The club has got to have a DNA, an identity, that everybody can buy into.

“I look at clubs like Swansea and Brentford who decided from the top, ‘this is how we’re going to play’ and get a manager in who wants to do that.

“It’s no good getting one in who thinks the opposite. It should go right through the club.

Talk about ripping the Rupp/Rhodes/Sparks manner to shreds! Jewell is ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON.

Jewell has a go at our lazy recruitment, our short-termism, the fact Sparks is not a strong leader off the field, the fact we don't interview our managers, the fact we aren't realistic and don't relate to the fan base...

    MUSIC TO MY BLOODY EARS!!

Where has Paul Jewell been all this time? This is the kind of common sense that has been prevalent on this forum for the last couple of years!

I'm glad somebody with a bit of vision has said what most of us on here are thinking - while the club continue to tell us everything's fine and everyone involved is doing really well and everybody wants to hire them.

Legend. Get this man in at board level if we can't get Warnock.

I’ve been saying this for YEARS!!!

Bradford City need to wake up and stop being so defensive of failure.

We won’t have vision with our current CEO and owner.

    Rhodes ruined that also.

Plenty on here have said this for years and plenty on here constantly criticized them for being "negative". Strange how it's all played out and the 'derided few' now actually look enlightened as they've been proven correct by time when in reality it was all clear as day for those that weren't blinded by misguided loyalty.

Pie Chips and Peas with Paul Tuesday night Legends Lounge should be good.
Do agree we need someone like Paul in at board level it’s time to sort things out and get the Club buzzing.

    Spot on.

Hopefully we can consign 'Just trust us and support the club and it will come good eventually' to the history books.

That is not how you run a business.

Never mind the legends suite, get him out on the pitch before kick off announcing he's joining us as DoF!

    Well done Jewell!

He has a great understanding of what this club is lacking and how it is drifting aimlessly. It even reads as though he has been visiting BT on occasions. ;)

Unfortunately I don't believe his views are shared widely within the club or amongst many of the fans. As on here, some will simply ignore what he says or defend the club or simply continue with their heads in the sand. More fool them.

I await the replies on here and elsewhere who tell us all that he is simply wrong. He isn't. Unfortunately we have a disinterested owner and an inexperienced CEO; that's a deadly combination who won't address the issues.

My post last night on the Sparks thread..
Only one team can be certain of promotion and the odds on that are against the rest. We can't just flip a switch to be that club and there can be no guarentees with any appointnent. In my view the culture running through the Club is paramount and the way forward is deternined by this, any quick fix will fail later. I was ridiculed previously for stating the importance of a corporate identity and subsequent dna but Paul Jewel as just implied it's importance also . So, imo, there are other factors for consideration apart from, but connected with any Managerial appointment, which will address the entire structure.A decision which now needs the expertise of some one experiened and versed in such to support Ryan.Chemistry and balance are essential in the rebuild. Complete conviction and committment has to come from the top otherise we will continue treading water.

He nailed it. Sparks need to set the strategy and recruit the Manager to suit.
The strategy needs to run through the club, down to U-16's.

He needs to tell the fans what the strategy is and that it could take a few seasons to get embedded.
That way he buys the Manager some time. As long as we can see some progress, something we can buy into, the fans will support that.

Is Rupp bothered about a long term strategy if he really just wants to sell once we are in League 1?

I noticed in Sparks Radio Leeds interview, Sparks referred to 'not accepting mediocrity' again.
When he says that, all he does is ramp up expectation that we need to get promoted.
He's just pilling pressure onto the next Manager already.

'Not accepting mediocrity' is just a stock phrase that corporate people use.

I used to work for a failing, national-level business and they said stuff like that all the time.

It doesn't mean anything, it's not an actionable philosophy, it's just something those types of people assume everyone around them wants to hear.

Paul Jewell , was a fantastic manager for our club. Gave us players and football that will live long in the memory. Football we had not had in years. Its such a shame it ended because of big Geoff , telling him staying in the premiership how we did was rubbish . If only he had left the guy to carry on the great work, who knows?

Most thought he had in Derek Adams, bringing Lee Turnbull in with regards recruitment and actually saying that is the way forward.
Adams doesn't take too long to get one of the clubs main strategies disbanded and his own scouting crew brought in, we have to question Ryan's due diligence with regards Ryan's appointment not just his CV but how he achieved his successes at Ross County, Plymouth Argyle and Morecambe.
Get the glue out and stick the original blueprint together again.
