Think he deserves a thread after a string of fantastic performances. After being very disappointing last season has moved on and is playing as well as I've ever seen him play for us.

He's so brave and seems to relish a battle, his approach reminds me of Andrew Davies, totally fearless. Also partial to a Rory-esque diagonal which mixes up our style a bit.

The commentators last night that he was one of the most fouled against players (I think) in the league, I think that was the stat sure someone will correct if that's wrong. That's amazing for a defender and I think this is achieved by fair means not foul.

He's definitely hit a new level playing alongside Canavan in my opinion which I think speaks volumes about his positive influence.

I hope Trueman and Sellars make him captain permanently next season. Although still young, he is a born leader and warrior

Hopefully he relishes the chance to progress with us, I am sure he will soon become a wanted player by other clubs.

Big contract extension required, 3/4 years... needs to either be the future of the club or tied down to demand a big fee if it comes down to it

I've said I never got why we had a goalkeeper as captain before so it's good to have an outfielder.

However, I wouldn't rush to make Paudie permanently captain as yet. All depends on the players we sign next season and what league we are in.

Didn’t really understand some of the criticisms last year of him he’s always been solid for me, but has gone to another level now.
Last season he had the likes of Akpan and Anderson in front of him with shambles at right back to the side of him, yet I’m sure we still had one of the better defensive records in the league, certainly until the turn of the year.

Hopefully he keeps getting better and better.

Paudie has been excellent in recent times. Bowery did him once last night on the right but beyond that, he won every challenge, block, header and gives plenty back

Their was a thread in recent days on losing Watt to Hull. Tell you what, in my mind, if one had to go... I'd rather keep Paudie.

One last thing, Canavan is a pure delight to work alongside POC. Compliment each together andi can only imagine, week by week, that POC grows and learns from Canavan.

    Bloody well done POC.

Apparently one of the most fouled players in the league too

A lot of those fouls are frustration of players being near him...… strong awkward gangly and mad as mince ….

I agree with you on the lack of cover he had last season but to be fair Paudie was equally off his game for most of last season - but he always had potential though and he has risen to the challenge in the past 3 months. I am delighted for him and also really pleased he now has a reliable partner at the back to help share the weight - we sometimes forget how young some of these players are and the stress and strain it can place on them

He's been outstanding over the last month, as has Canavan. On the basis of the last 5 games, this is the best CB pairing we've had since Davies and McArdle. And Canavan is 29, Paudie 23 - good ages and no reason why they can't be a pairing for 3 or 4 years. In Paudie's case though, he should be aiming for a championship move within a couple of years. I think he has the potential.

Did Leeds build a sell on into the deal when he joined permanently?

The way young Hornsby is playing O'Donnell will have to sit on the bench for a while so Paudie can show T&S he's more than capable of wearing the arm band.

He’ll be in the championship in two years when we do a Luton.

Said early on that this season would be the most important of his career as he is now at the age where he should be fully establishing himself as a regular starter.
Delighted that, like Wood last season, he has really stepped it up this year and looks to be a very good CB who can continue to progress with us.
Think the main reason he wins so many fouls is that he wins every 50:50 and often gets fouled in the process

He looks a better prospect as a CB than Wood does as an LB.

Wood is a player who suddenly doesn’t look as good now the rest of the team is performing. Still a good player but I don’t think it would be a catastrophe if he left at the end of the season.

Paudie though has been class. I don’t think there is a better back four in the division at the moment.

Agree about the partnership. I actually thought Canavan was older, so that's a bonus, strikes me that he would be happy to be here for years to come
