    Agree.

Tbe standard of driving and arrogance shown by many on Bradford's roads is appalling

Sentences like this also make by blood boil, god only knows how the victims relatives must feel

Don’t get me wrong, the sentence, and sentencing generally is pathetic. Agree with the oxygen thief comment, he should be looking at considerably more.
But, and no way condoning him, I wonder if they’ve took into account contributory blame on the motorcyclists part. I lived in sandy lane for a long time, still have family there and commute through it. It’s a congested road, and to be moving at 40/45 mph as suggested is absolutely reckless as well. It could quite easily have been a different kind of accident.

I agree with your sentiments but the length of time it takes for victims to get “justice” from the offence to sentencing is abysmal and getting worse in this country. I dread to think the length of time after Covid 19 is clear and courts are reopen. The majority have moved on with their life.

The court system is pointless, not only does it take an eternity to get there but eventually when you do the sentencing is so pathetic its just an excuse to piss millions of pounds of tax payers money down the drain.

Decriminalise marijuana would be a bold but big step to reduce police workloads and clear court time.

All drugs should be Decriminalised including prescription drugs and sold to over 18s in regulated licenced shops and pharmacies

It is something we will never ever stop or control without decriminalisation. The dealers who are locked up are not locked up for long and the line is left open for when they get out. Anything that’s seized is replaced immediately. Drug money made leads to more power in the drug dealers hands for further crime etc.

Portugal. Germany has relaxed all drug use as long as it is for personal use, Over 30 countries are in the process of relaxing drug laws as it dawns it will never control it while spending huge amounts of money, police time and the prison service.
And of course we in the UK supply addicts with free drugs at pharmacies if they are registered addicts, Stand outside Rawson St Pharmacy it will open your eyes to the amount of addicts arriving for the supply or dose

As I work in a Pharmacy I know about what is and isn’t provided. It would be madness to legalise ALL drugs and for them to be available with no scripts

I don't know about Portugal but I do know a little about Germany. And the regional states have not legalised narcotics. The states have said (it's for the states to determine and not the federal Govt) that possession of a small amount of narcotics wouldn't be prosecuted or if you like, it has been decriminalised. All states have agreed to apply that to a small amount of cannabis for example (up to about 10g) for personal use. Having a half kilo of hash even for 'for personal use' would still be prosecuted. Some states but not all have extended that principle to small amounts of cocaine, MDMA and some other narcotics. But the supply of all narcotics, irrespective of quantity is still an offence. It's just wrong to say it has been legalised; it hasn't. A blind eye is being turned to certain offences by many states to allow the drug enforcement people to concentrate on the organised crime side of the trade and to stop using valuable resources on checking for a couple of ecstasy tablets .

And no, I'm not involved in any way with the narcotics trade. All of this comes from my other half's company's 'advice' sheets for when they are working in other countries. These advice sheets also deal with driving, speed limits, tipping, buying alcohol and lots of other cultural things and aren't simply to advise on how to secure the best narcotics! ;)
