That would be political suicide, as we all know.

I like Nandy she was one of the few Labour MPs with credibility that backed the referendum vote when the vast majority of Labour MP played followed my leader which ultimately cost them the 2019 General Election.

I'm neither mate, but I'll be honest my respect for Rayner went up after what she said about the Tories. Fact that most Tories were more disgusted about what she said as opposed to how Johnson was running the country tells you they have morals of a sewer rat. As Nottsy said Andy Burnham would be a good shout.

Mayor of greater Manchester I think. I'll be honest I'm not sure it makes a difference who gets the gig as Labour will manage to implode like they usually do. Too many clout chasers amongst their ranks.

He wasn't 'overlooked'. He had his opportunity, but blew it big time. As did Yvette Cooper. Both should have wiped the floor with Corbyn in the leadership election after Ed Milliband resigned, but they came across as sleepwalking. I couldn't believe how uninspiring they both were. What was needed then was someone who was prepared to vigorously challenge the 'we need austerity economics because Labour crashed the economy' lie that the Tories were successfully ramming down everyone's throats for years. But neither of them did that - they were so ineffectual it was ridiculous.

Corbyn won because he was the only one of the leadership candidates that actually had something positive to say. I voted for him, but abstained in the 'attempted coup' leadership contest the following year because it was blindingly obvious to me by then that Corbyn couldn't lead his way out of a wet paper bag.

Both Burnham and Cooper have upped their game since then. But, as you say, Burnham is no longer an MP so couldn't have been a candidate if Starmer had stepped down.

Not really, its been proven after a number of enquiries that they didnt do anything illegal. Politicians have to make judgement calls based on evidence given to them they cant go and collect it themselves. In this case its MI6 who should be answering questions.

If our PM is a russian agent and it can be proven so then its demonstrably different to the question of the Iraq war. Just think of the consequences.
