    The Payne situation is strange. Such a key player for us this season and now can’t even get off the bench. Quite a luxury to have him warming the bench for 90 minutes.

    I suppose it’s due to Butterfield pushing into the advanced midfield role there’s no place for Payne. Although it be interesting to see him play as a supper striker instead of Ball. He’s such a good player it seems a waste not to play him.

    Im genuinely starting to believe this is rest for Payne and he’ll be back tomorrow. I’m hoping Bowyers concocted a formula for fitting him and Butterfield in one team whilst maintaining a balance and discipline his first two games have shown. A narrow formation of 4-1-2-1-2 tomorrow perhaps?

    Hard to believe Bowyer said in the t&a after the luton game that we gave it a go;

    Not in the first half, the familiar no shot on target and no chance created, City hung on in that first 45 minutes.

    If the team want the win it must create chances in order to score.

    The most creative player we have is Payne, he needs to start in order to create these chances to score goals.

    Currently paying more money for his contract to just sit on the bench.Bizarre.
