They can be both. Lots of clubs have succeeded with this policy.

Udders have nearly a Championship side of ex-players they either nutured or bought in their L1 days, who were all 23 or younger, i.e. Oliver Norwood, Danny Ward, Anthony Pilkington, Lee Peltier, Alex Smithies and Tom Clarke. Significantly, their policy didn't bear fruit for about five years

So if they can do it, why can't we? And don't think Hoyle threw money around in their L1 days.He made them competitive, but he took over just at the time the results of their faith in younger players was resulting in saleable players

Well that was a shite 900th post

 

I have to be careful from now on it seems I'm upsetting some posters with my honest comments.

Someone posted if anyone had heard the rumour about Drury I and others said yes and bronco gets a hard time because I reply to other poster, thought that was the idea of the message board.

 

Must admit mate, your posts of late have been very negative. You also seem content to believe any negative rumour regardless that there is little evidence that it will come to fruition.

I get that you’re disappointed with the owners and how you perceive they are running the club. But you’re better than this. Not everything with the club is shit. Mistakes have been made, but we’re not relegation fodder just yet

 

And they will continue in that vain until I see some positivity from the owners, yes I believe what I'm told I don't pick a random quote from someone on here and take it for gospel.
You know what mate I'm sick of hearing they have made mistakes but give them time, they have had control at our club for two season, now if anyone can honestly say we are better as a club that we were before they took over I'd say they are kidding themselves, many a true word spoken in jest.

 

In the same vein they have had two seasons and three quarters of that time was good on top of that new ticketing system new pitch being delivered and services being taken I. House so progress yes

 

As a football fan the only way most view it is the final position we finish, are you seriously saying the average fan gives a toss about taking merchandising back in house, a new ticketing system, pitch being repaired, or vurtualy any other non football related thing that goes on behind the scenes.
You can use those points to say eventually the could make us a better club because finacialy we will be self suficiant, we were living hand to mouth for the last 5/6 years but the last owners along with the manager delivered on the pitch, I personally don't want to finish midtable and see a great balance sheet, that is IMO what these two have bought our club for to take us forward and if and when necessary fund certain elements of running the club with their own money,

 

You can't go on finishing mid table and being financially sound for long
Our dwindling support will drop further thus reducing rapidly a great balance sheet
Unless they put their money where their mouth and invest like Mark Lawn did all be it charging interest

 

I wanted to try and keep it short and try not put too much of a negative spin on it but you make a very good point we have already lost upward of 5,000 fans from last season (for various reasons) one maybe being lack of trust in the owners ?, but you are correct another midtable finish may not go down too well with let's say, fans who have resently come on board with regards our suscess.
