    Serious question, folks ....

Got a call from an old Brummie (BCFC) mate last night - And as things went - (In general football) our beloved Bantam crest/badge cropped up (Which he has always described as a bloodied pigeon !) ....... And it got me thinking.

In general, as fans - Would we prefer to stick to elaborate depictions, or would we accept just a 'silhouette' as a crest, such is the modern way ?
I was thinking BLACK, as this would ensure that BLACK remains on all our kits and merchandise, without actually losing our identity.

Just a straw poll, if you like - But how do other BT members feel about this ?

I’d vote for the Boar crest to return.

Changing next season is the rumour I heard. Bit of a rebrand if Edin’s still here and still interested at the end of the season.

Well we're probably overdue an update but Edin would have to be insane to mess with the current badge unless he's got some significant success on the pitch to fall back on because however good any new design is, it's not going to please everyone and it'd be one more thing for everyone to fall out about.

Personally, I'd stick with a Bantam rather than a boar if for no other reason than boar sounds like bore.

History of the club crest and how it has changed over the years can be found here:

Yes, I too liked that. However, it would create yet another 'nickname' change - And I'd hate to think other supporters regarded City as the Bradford Bores ! :(

Keeping up with modern times and all that. Would we have to call it a “bantam of colour” though?
Might get some more females supporting the club long term. As I’ve heard, once you go black, you never go back ;)

On the plus side, "the boars" translates to "die eber" in German and importantly Google can translate that back in to "the boars" which is an improvement on the current Dwarf Chicken situation.

A black crest won’t work on any away kits that are usually black or dark coloured though Ronnie. So it may have to change colour.

A bit like the ribbon we use. It is mainly black, but gets changed on some away shirts

As Bradford had a history of making fabrics etc, why not change our nickname to ‘Bobbins’ and have done with it

    ;)

I like the actual bantam design, better than the rest of the crest if I'm honest. If we were to redesign it, then I'd have the same bantam but have it central to the design, the focal point of the crest.

I think a monochrome crest that could be applied to different colour schemes would be better. A bit like the apple logo.
Maybe we could retain the main crest, but design a stylised logo for training/ casual wear

I quite like the simplified 'bull' silhouette on some of Bull's training wear.

Screen Shot 2018-09-29 at 11.16.01.png Had one of these in the '60's when I was in the Supporters Club as a kid. The actual colours were more claret and amber than shown.

I don't know tbh, I wasn't born until the 90's and just saw it on Twitter. I'd hazard a guess at 80's I'm sure a fair few on here will know.

That logo makes me think of Zico Leonard, so yes, it would be late 80s.
