We know Nicky Law, and he wasn't exactly the greatest manager we ever had. If he had joined us in the Greg Abbott role, we might have been equally lukewarm.

But it's articles like this that stoke the fires of positivity:

Where is the glowing praise for Abbott? Why is he the man for the job?

Doing things on the cheap means you need pin point accuracy. Do we have it or not, City?

One's a premier league club who have just gotten into Europe on the cheap (relatively speaking)

The other isn't... There's no chance Sky Sports would want to do an article about us in regards to this

There are a million and one football magazine type sites out there.

Perhaps we could engage with one or two.

I just doubt they'd be interested.. very little press coverage even in the million and one football magazine sites..

Nothing has been done yet, we are 2 years into trying this new way of recruitment and development.

But like Law says players don't become Premiership (League 1) players overnight.

Like Edin says if they can give the lads an education as well as training and lodging then that can only be a good thing as not all will make it.

Good read is that, very interesting. My worry is that although we are going down the development route we need scouts out and about, especially in non-league.

    Football clubs are closed books.

Only trusted press trusted to write particular articles.

    Output is controlled.

It's not like that in other sports.

I've written for a website myself and had plenty of contact from individuals and outfits wanting press coverage.

lains. "You do it one of two ways. You take the lad and invest time in him or you don't and you let him go somewhere else and get his football education there.

That is just what we are doing with our new policies a great interview here

Burnley are a really well run club. Appointing the right people

Helps they are now an established premier league side and can chuck some money Laws way

Sorry but it's not a "great interview". This lad is just churning out the party line and hoping to earn a crust off the back of it. Like he says himself, "we cannot compete with other clubs in the area on fascilities and funding" but we are "creating something at the club that does attract these young players" really? what exactly is that?

A pathway to first team football. With our youth to the development Squad to the first team and with a policy to give the youngster a chance. Bigger teams can’t do that. I also think the link up with one of the best schools in the area is also a good thing. One of the reason Riley joined is because we give young players a chance. The word spreads and we get better young players. I think it is an exciting time for the club

It's difficult to argue with that post without sounding like you are dissing the club we love and you are patently aware of that. From MUFC to BCFC at 21, he will not be going from our youth, to development squad to the first team. It's now or never for this kid and I really hope he can cut it. But please don't try and patronise others with this "Bradford City dream youth acadamy". Other "youth acadamy's are available.

Assuming Riley does well here word also gets back to Man Utd about how we treat their young players which cannot be bad.

Don’t give a toss about any other club and what they do. I am pleased at last that we are looking forward and doing it right. If you dont agree fair enough I am not goi g to be drawn into another long debate iof negativity
