Cant see this being true to be honest. I have no idea why this sell on is being talked about so much to be honest. Yes its always nice to have the income but there is absolutely zero chance of us getting a £3mill lump sum paid to us this summer.

    Why?

It will be the biggest fee we have ever received for a player and he barely kicked a ball for us.

It is going to prove fantastic business for the club and Rupp can only thank the previous regime for sticking the clause in.

It could be the difference between promotion or a middle of the road season or even to ensure the club break even after last year’s shambles.

Whatever happens it is worthy of lots of talk. It’s massive for our club

Agree, I've seen the offer described as eventually worth £20m but have no idea how this will be made up. Looks like Swansea are looking for us to take a percentage of the initial payment.

The one who wrote it for them is one of the Bantams banter boys who works for them. They and oli always seemed quite pally over Twitter when he was here. I assume they've probably stayed in touch and that's how he knew

I think what the discussion could be is they may have a sell on fee agreed with Sheffield United let's say 15% but then we get 15 % of that too. And obviously that will include any goal scoring clauses, international apps etc etc. So let's say he scores 20 and gets sold again for maybe 40 million ( highly unlikely i know) that's another liability on Swansea that they may want to avoid.

Why not? This is a forum about Bradford City isn’t it? Obviously we won’t get £3mil in our hands when it goes through, but it’s money the club can count on going forward. After some on social media talking about going into admin around New Year time it’s very good news for the future security of the club.

We’ve got far more to look forward to than Bury for instance higher league or not.

I ignored all the admin talk as absolute waffle of the highest order - can someone remind me of the basis of that claim?

Or was the 'logic' simply limited to how Rupp isn't really interested and even though he can easily fund us for a few years, he just didn't want to despite buying the club in the first place?

Because that 'logic' has been proven to be rank stupidity.

Tbh I had it as some kid/teenager saw that we ran at quite a big loss last season, though not bigger than a fair few at our level and put 2 and 2 together and got 50,000. Not to be taken seriously, however them sort of rumours spread.

Having seen who asked why people are talking about it, I’d imagine he’d be happy to get stuck in should it be a negative story. Unfortunately it’s to common in our club from top to bottom, negative mentality. Stories like this help change that though, as well as big signings. Seeing big money being discussed coming our way helps build excitement around the place, and that can only be good from a PR perspective.

Yeah, to be honest, there has been nothing about Rupp's backing of the club so far that suggests if we get a million or two windfall that he's going to hoover it up.

Last season Rupp funded a loss, this season he has given us a very strong budget, just one that is hampered by the crap players with crap attitudes that we signed under Rahic - still, it might be enough, and it's certainly a considerable investment.

The idea that Rupp is going to withdraw the entirety of the McBurnie windfall just doesn't seem to check out. By rights he can, and we shouldn't complain if he does, but it seems very unlikely. Rupp set a competitive budget so as not to totally overstretch ourselves, and if a bit more money comes in, it's only going to help get us back where we need to be.

Rupp might not gain anything but losses if he overinvests this season, but he also gains nothing if we don't achieve promotion - I'm sure he's aware of where the value of the club stands from 36 months ago. I'm sure he wants to right that, not just cover losses that, while substantial, are hardly crippling.

Negative fantasists, IMO, inventing stories with zero substance. I've doubted Rupp myself in the past, asked and wondered why he would continue to lose money, but actually the answer is pretty obvious - he needs to invest to make us competitive, and he's hardly going to write off a big loss that can be recovered with sensible management (a loss he can also afford to try and recoup).

    Ok, so fee agree.

Wonder if Mr Rupp is taking all the percentage due to us or putting in to the transfers.

Sky reporting a 17m fee rising to 20m. Our sell on money should right the overspend by the egomaniac rahic and still have some left over for playing budget.

Most likely will go to Stefan with him putting £2M in to cover Edins mess. Bet its paid in installments too.

if the club/GB see any of it then fair play to Stefan I say.

I think Swansea were standing strong and demanding the bulk up front. We’ll therefore get the bulk up front, if that happens.
What happens to that windfall is anyone’s guess.
