Sheffield United want him but there’s no way they will pay that.

Wilder said he doesn’t think spending silly money helps (see Fulham last season).

Brighton were rumoured at one stage and they will have some money but maybe put off at 20 million? They recently spent close to that on someone so money is there

He had a better than 1 in 2 record last season so based on the current climate I can see someone paying around £20mill with ease as I'm not sure you get anyone else with that record for less. Maybe not all upfront with some most likely some in conditional add-ons but just look at Daniel James, he wasn't any more effective than McBurnie (McBurnie 22 goals and 4 assists, James 4 goals 7 assists) and United paid £15mill + £3mill in add-ons.

I just dont see McBurnie being the type of forward that a Premiership side with money to spend would chase, although it has been suggested Sheff Utd might be interested, but not ar £20M.

Who wouldn't want a 23 year old striker that scores goals?

Edit: Just remembered that Che Adams has just gone for £15M to the prem.

The big difference being he has scored goals at the championship level and won't demand big wages. Therefore when they get relegated they will have a proven championship asset in their squad which will make it easier to then go back up and wont financially cripple them. Bit like West Brom/Burnley going up and down shouldn't cripple them and they incrementally improve

    Britt Assombolonga £15m

    Scott Hogan £12m

Looking at those players £15m plus seems reasonable taking into account inflated transfer fees and TV payments

Look at Daniel James showreel. A lot of is goals are assists from McBurnie. Is he better than the Bournemouth welsh lad the skinny one David Brooks ? I think he is better. Brooks is rated v highly by Eddie Howe.

He went for £12 million and he is now worth more.

To say McBurnie couldn't attract 20 million is extremely naive.

It's one thing to question the valuation, but it's silly to assume nobody could possibly share it.

But all clubs want a goal scorer and he is that. His record speaks for itself. Still young and a bright future ahead of him. I don’t see why any lower Premier League club wouldn’t want him.

I expect him to have left Swansea by transfer deadline day. Goalscorers are a rare commodity and McBurnie has a proven track record at championship level. And at around 12 to 15 million its a low risk gamble in premiership circles. I see clubs like Burnley or Bournemouth having a good sniff around.

If the player knows a club won’t pay it, he could look to force a move and go for less.

Swansea not in as much of a rush to sell as they once were seen as James went for a big fee.

Agree but they when they see Che Adams going for £15M I think they'll feel they can get a bit more for Oli.

Their records are also remarkably similar. Both hit 20+ goals this season and in the two seasons before that they both hit 7 and then 9 respectively so both are on an upwards curve in terms of goal returns.

Park, are you suggesting he's looking to build his reputation further this next season then do a Cleverley, hence his 0% sell on comment yesterday?

They're also likely to get a few mill from the Stripey Nigels for Jordan Ayew and get Ayew's wages of the books.
