    Looking for a bit of advice. Got Oldham tickets then realised I haven't got a car. Anyone know how to get there via train or bus, preferably from Halifax. Cheers guys.

    Train from Halifax to Manchester Victoria then tram up the Oldham the best bet

    It's not the easiest place to get to! But this works ..

    Halifax to Rochdale by train
    Short walk to trams about 1 min
    Tram to Didsbury via Mancs (Pink line)
    Get off at Westwood stop - just after Oldham centre
    About 1 mile walk to Boundary Park

    Hope the weather is kind to you.

    Oh and the car? Wife decided she needed it for work, the selfishness of some people.

    Sometimes the trams only go as far as Exchange Square.

    As Rochdale is the terminus, any tram from Rochdale will go through to Westwood.

    An alternative would be to get off in Oldham Union Street, there is a Sainsbury supermarket and Taxis there, and around the general area.

    Another alternative, with less of a walk than the tram, would be to get the 409 bus from Rochdale (cheaper as well).     Off to Oldham tomorrow on train via Manchester (and pubs:grinning:) but therein might be the issue, as rail network MAY have issues, following storm whatever it is called. Fallen debris, flooding.

    From Manchester, over to Westwood. Scenic route to boundary Park. If not sure use Google maps on your phone, about 15/20 minutes walk.

    Personally I would get the train to Rochdale, unless you are going boozing in Manchester. I would guess it would add a good 30 minutes onto the journey to go to Manchester Victoria.

    This looks more complicated……but if you have the time. https://www.plusbus.info/manchester Could save you even more. Looks like you can get one at the station you get your train ticket, or perhaps load it onto your phone.
    Day prices:
    Adult: £4.20
    Child: £2.10
    Railcard holder: £2.80
