ROD has been mentoring Bass on distribution

 

What did we learn about Northampton this week,don’t give them corners or free kicks and what do we do but give them corners and free kicks.

 

This is a dreadful game. No midfield whatsoever and can’t put 3 passes together.

 

I hope if this is Sparkie's style of possession football it is because we have little quality up top because I don't fancy a season of keep ball with no end result.

 

You often see this with teams who are implementing a possession based style. It takes a bit of time for people to get comfortable with it, but the bottom line is we don't have players who can play it. So it looks dull and it looks like its possession for possession sake - which Hughes has said several times, isn't what he wants.

We just need to ride it out, recruit players to fit the system and style, and be patient.

Bristol Rovers are the template for what I think Hughes wants to build. Possession based, front foot, high energy and high press football. But it needs an overhaul because few of these players are good enough to play that way.

 

These are the worst 2 teams i've seen this season, really hope that MH takes no prisoners....

Our free kick on the halfway line Dave, we have the advantage to use the opponents half - why does the ball go back, bit by bit and end up with Bass???? No intent at all, hope that this is MH's way of playing just to see the season out.
Expect better next season when the dross is shipped out.

 

Only outlook today is Vernham?

 

If we have to make excuses, and we do, then they are not the players for us. No use having one good game in ten.

 

I think Sutton is our quickest player. Not that it matters today and with his injury coming at just the wrong time I suspect we may have seen rhe last of him

 

But were safe lets show a bit of intent for the traveling City fans.

That's better Angol & Vernam on, I'd have brought Walker off to seen the pairing of Cook and Angol.

 

What the hell are you doing Hughes, I had Cook to score in our 3-0 win and you've taken him off!

 

0 - 0 poor game overall.

 

Northampton havre 'bored' all season, to such a degree that Joey Barton quipped that they were "a glorified rugby team".

Yet, they've been in the Top 5 virtually all season.

i.e. it's L2 - it largely is boring

 

5 or 6 of the right signings needed. We need to be aiming for top 3 next season.
