Another couple of hundred new born babies die at the hands of the failures Of the NHS. This along with the thousands of deaths at the hands of the NHS failures every year. How long can this go on before the penny drops it needs massive reorganisation. The public deserve better than this and saying lessons have been learnt again will not do.

What about all the NHS successes? The millions of lives saved by this free health service?

What percentage of patients that are killed but should have lived a good life but the NHS killing them?
Do we just accept the thousands carelessly killed by the NHS as the price of free healthcare?

The NHS were found to have killed my uncle through clinical negligence a few years back, however I would not say what they did was careless and I think it's pretty disgusting to label them that given all the hard work members of the NHS did through the course of the pandemic for example. We are dealing with over worked and under resourced staff, in my view ideologically so to create the conditions for the entry of private providers into the healthcare sector. Indeed this is already happening at scale. Blaming the workers when they simply aren't being given the proper tools and conditions to do their job will not solve the problem in my opinion. There is a damn good reason the royal college of nursing is balloting to strike for the first time in history, and it isn't because they don't care!

The NHS is a part of life and treatment free of charge should always be the best way. However this is another discovery ( how many more undiscovered yet) of shoddy and terrible treatment by some staff of the NHS. I am not saying throw the baby out with the bath water but it is obvious that major changes of managing such a large organisation is needed. On the latest patients groups have complained for 10 years of mistakes. Deaths and poor patient care. Yet despite this they as usual with the NHS the patients were ignored untill the media got involved. Not one person has been brought to account and that needs to change

That report on the East Kent midwifery service is shocking.

As usual there will be questions on funding but the actual details show that these services need to be run in a more appropriate and professional way. They really do need to get a grasp on some of the working practices.

I watched the story of this in the news with the wife. We both fell about laughing when the lady being questioned came out with 'lessons will be learned'. Same bleeding line they always come out with. Fact is the NHS isnt fit for purpose anymore, it's far removed from what it originally set out to be. Lack of investment in the right areas and the organisations most profitable bits being privatised now see a service in complete disarray. Not blaming those at the front line, they do a sterling job in difficult circumstances.
