Next manager

I have to agree with you on this Fordy, whether we get a new owner or not (fingers crossed) it's too early to offer him the job, leave it "as is" for the time been. It is interesting and a good thing that McDonald was far from happy with parts of our performance yesterday, for me yesterday is what you get when you work hard but are not at your best.
Wimbledon also work hard and had they won yesterday would have gone second, it was only their second defeat. I hope that somewhere down the line that McDonald has to make a decision on whether to carry on playing or step into management (with City) BUT not yet, it's too soon.

My dad did Jewells windows when he moved house a couple of years back. Asked him about management and said he was done, not something he ever wants to entertain again but enjoyed being a DOF at Swindon. He said he's s been asked by Guiseley a few times to help out there but they weren't willing to pay.

 

Rupp didn’t care when he was hiring Sparks, so why would be fly over to care about interviewing football managers?

What bit of Rupp isn’t interested in this football club don’t you get?

is there any actual evidence for this take over or is it just the usual twitterama circus.
Rupp my just be coming over to interview candidates for new manager and take in a game next Saturday, which should be a cracker , in front of a large crowd against are old manager. Surely what most business owners would do.

 

There isn’t a name in the shortlist that I want and genuinely believe there’s better options for us out there if we take some time. Some currently employed managers will lose jobs, others will show interest that haven’t already.

Given the stage we are in the season we have the luxury of a bit of time, and Macdonald’s results so far have bought us even more.

The players seem happy with his approach. We’re performing more to our strengths and results are coming.

I’m interested to see how we manage next week. I’d be shocked if Parky doesn’t come well prepared for this - we could see the difference experience management brings. It’s a good test to see how we prepare this week and how Macdonald manages this one.

 

Whether its a DoF or the CEO, you need someone who's a step removed from the manager, setting the parameters and strategy for the football side of the club. Either route can work, especially at L2 level, but what (demonstratably) doesn't work is having no DoF and a novice CEO in footballing terms. And there are clearly positives that Sparks brings, what's needed is more nous and experience on the footballing side. And it can't all sit with the manager, it's a killer for long term planning and sustainability

 

The experience Parky and Parkin have could be sticky for us. Was watching the new season of the FX Wrexham show, PPs pre game talk was briefly shown but it was things like "if this guy takes a corner it's likely going here, thus guy aims front post..." or "if keeper has it at his feet you press and you mark the striker or if ita in his hands drop onto him and him".

Parky goes very in depth and we all know his touchline theatrics and ways of always being on the 4th official. I'd hazard a guess that McDonald is trying to nail the basics, rather than very indepth instructions, so this one is no doubt his toughest test.

 

McDonald said himself he'll hold the fort as long as necessary be that a couple of weeks or months.

 

Still awaiting your response to the post in which I asked your thoughts on our next manager, come on @fordy your hardly know for not expressing your opinion who do YOU fancy for our next manager.

Wellens, Evans, Parky, - I feel we might have to pay compensation to get the manager we want or should be going for

It’s not to get the right man not what fans think they want. We also need a manager that will tell it as it really is.

 

There is no manager on the rumoured list that is better than what we have and some worse. Lets be smart and leave well alone for the present as long as Kev Mac is happy to carry on

 

Our recent success on the football field and in the dressing room has provided a dilemma for the Board.

I personally don’t fancy any of those mentioned. To get a top manager we would need to go on a smash and grab raid from another club£££££££.

What about we leave our Kev where he is and appoint a DOF to assist and be a consultant to the manager. Therefore would need to be an experienced manager. Parky Jewell type. It will still cost, Jewell less so than Parky as he is at the 18th.
No idea about the club sale rumours, maybe leave the manager role until after any takeover if that is happening.
