Away to Harrogate, then Morecambe then home to Newport.
Obviously would like maximum points from these games which appear easier on paper. However, we've been here many times and games aren't played on paper, so would settle for 7 points from these games and push us back up into the promotion places. Thoughts?

We should be targeting 9 points but the injuries and makeshift defence could severely happen us especially if we have to play Tyreik Wright as a FB in a back four.

    I'm gonna say 5 points, 1 win, 2 draws.

More than that will be decent, just the 5 will be mediocre.

Going to say 4 points, match our inconsistent output lately.

Every season we falter against sides that sit toward the bottom. But mainly, every season we struggle against Harrogate.

We must show our promotion credentials sooner or later.

    4 points.

I am concerned about GA's moans/complaints after games which will starts to feed there way through to the players, if it hasn't already, who will feel they have a ready made excuse for the performance or result.

Problems are challenges to be overcome and it's his job to find solutions that provide a positive outcome.

    I'm fully expecting 9 points.
Not necessarily from these next 3 games, but definitely at some point.

Both Harrogate and Morecambe beat us easily last season 3-0, so hopefully a big improvement on those results. Harrogate are a big bogey team for us and deadly Derek will have Morecambe fired up.

It's important to remain unbeaten, that's the main thing for morale and form over the next three games.

In terms of points return, 2 or 4 would be poor. 6 adequate, 8 very good. As long as we remain unbeaten, that's the key.

At the moment we are averaging 1.57 points a game.

If we get 5 then that is vaguely acceptable, but given that all the clubs are in the bottom half with Morecambe propping up everyone else, then it would be a poor return.

If we did get 5, then if we matched the form throughout the remainder of the season that would mean around 73/74 points.

Last season that would have got us into the Play Offs, probably taking Crewe’s spot. Where did ending up 6th get them?

Mansfield in 3rd place got 86 points, an average of 1.8 points a match.

I know it is early days, but winning all three games would propel us up the table and correct the target of mid 80 points and a decent chance of gaining an automatic slot.

So the club needs to be aiming at three straight wins.

Whether it achieves that target is another matter.

We’re not very good against Harrogate are we. Then we’ve got DA and Songo coming back to haunt us. Newport we should win. So that’s 3 points. Maybe.

7 points would be a minimum return for me. We have to stay in and around the top 3. We have defenders coming back, hopefully to support those who have the shirt and not replace.

    Agree with this.

Any promotion chasing team would be looking at these games, in isolation, and thinking each one should be a win.

Just had a look as I thought we had a rough time last season against lower sides and baring the CBs, most the 11 we can throw out at the minute were here last season. Christ, I forgot how long this team yo-yoed between 12th and 15th place.

We lost 15 league games last season, taking out the opening day defeat as everyone was level at the time, but in the other 14 defeats, we lost 10 of those to teams who were at the time below us in the table. We played a team who were at the time in the relegation zone 5 times last season and lost 3 of those games. By contrast of our 19 wins, or 18 as our win against Colchester was their first game of the season, but in the other 18 wins, 11 of those were against teams who were at the time above us in the table.

Need to improve that record this season to be a contender, rather than leaving it late again to challenge.
